Oct 10, 2019Stunning masterpiece. It's all been said here by almost every one of the reviewers - beautiful portrayal of loss and hope.

Oct 5, 2019Just like its predecessor, this is an otherworldly experience. A work of art of overwhelming depth. I am sorry that Nick Cave had to experience the intense grief that he so beautifully talks about on this record, but he can be proud of the music he and his band have crafted. Show-stopping and deeply moving from start to finish.

Oct 31, 2019And I thought The Skeleton Key was as perfect as it gets. Cave is like wine, the older the better.

Oct 8, 2019An amazing masterpiece by Nick Cave & the Bad Seeds. I couldn't believe they could surpass their previous record, Skeleton Tree, but here we are. This one is easily one of their best! Highly recommended.
Favorite Tracks: Spinning Song, Waiting for You, Sun Forest, Ghosteen, Hollywood.
Least Favorite Track: Night Raid (If I had to pick). -
Oct 6, 2019This is deeply affecting art from extreme grief. Hard but profound and ennobling.

Oct 5, 2019A career achievement. One of the best albums of the 2019 and of the decade. They have taken an unspeakable tragedy and somehow turned it into a beautiful story of grief and healing.

Oct 5, 2019Perfect. With every new listening is it better and better. The first album in my live, that i listen five time in first day of release.
-
Oct 6, 2019An utterly captivating, moving and cinematic experience as Nick creates a world revolving around grief within the palm of his hand. A leap forward in sonic breadth for the Bad Seed’s and an epic closure on their trilogy.
-
Oct 7, 2019A magnificent conclusion to the trilogy, containing some of the purest and most gorgeous songwriting of Cave's career.
-
Oct 7, 2019The perfect synthesis of Push The Sky Away and Skeleton Tree. Sweet in the music, sour in the lyrics.
-
Oct 7, 2019Beautiful record, Nick Cave takes all the great ideas from 2016s skeleton tree and builds upon them creating an hour and 8 minutes of amazing ballads that flow in and out of one another. Was not expecting this to blow me away like it did. One of the best records of the year hands down.

Oct 9, 2019Absolute masterpiece. One of the most moving records of all time. A transcendental experience.
-
Oct 12, 2019An amazing album that completely took me by surprise. Vastly different from Cave's previous releases, one cannot put a finger on which album from the Bad Seeds to compare it to. That may be the thing that Cave is a master at; bringing something new and fresh to his fans every time.
-
Oct 10, 2019If the heart of a horse who spoke softly into the ear of a child climbing the staircase at the foot of the Rapture alone had a sound; it would sound exactly like Ghosteen.

The WireNov 20, 2019Unsurprisingly the mood is melancholy and the louche, theatrical sexuality or carnal drama of earlier albums is replaced by a battered and searching tone, striving to make sense, or failing that, some poetry or beauty out of the tragedy. The narratives take on a less devilish tone here. [Nov 2019, p.46]

Nov 13, 2019It can only tower when it comes to naming this decade’s great albums; miles above and light years ahead of anything else.
-
Classic Rock MagazineNov 13, 2019A richly imagined widescreen masterpiece that grows deeper and more emotive with each listen, Ghosteen may well prove to be the most ambitious, achingly beautiful, boldly experimental album of cave's career. [Dec 2019, p.83]
