The brilliance of this album cannot be overstated. We’re back in the 90s and 2000s and God do I love it. This is what pop albums used to sound like. But it’s not just nostalgic, wonderfully angsty pop-punk/pop-rock. It’s also folk (“lacy”) and New Wave (“pretty isn’t pretty”). You hear elements of Taylor, Avril, P!nk, early Katy, Sara Bareilles, Hole.

This new album is definitely a step forward for Olivia, demonstrating her incredible ability to write, but above all to express emotions, Nigro's production is still the best, the use of each instrument is incredible, and Rodrigo's voice is the perfect complement for those melodies, without a doubt we are in front of the big promise of the music industry.

It's really crazy to think that I grew up with Olivia, I remember being 14 years old in my room when I heard Sour for the first time, that whirlwind of feelings about identifying with each piece of writing, crying listening to dejavu, being euphoric listening brutal.
And now after years I have the chance to hear another sonically incredible work.
Guts is a milestone, completely different

Guts is a milestone, completely different from what I expected, but still incredibly good, that mix of feelings from when I was just a little boy is still here. I loved every song on this album, from the melancholy feeling in ''Lacy'' to the screams of ''all-american **** Olivia you will always be a star, the world chose you little girl! You were born for this, you were born to shine and this album is just another proof of that!

This album is relatably depressing, confiding, playful, and yet aggressive. Olivia did a great job and for sure she’ll be relevant for yearsss.

such a wonderful sophomore album by the one, and only Olivia Rodrigo. The massive growth lyrically sonically and vocally that Olivia has shown is tremendous, Olivia has shown once again, why she stands out from her peers. Impressive continuation of her previous work, you can see how mature the lyrics and production are and I think it is a very good construction to take adolescence as a metaphor for suffering.

“Teenage Dream” recycles a song title of Katy Perry’s and echoes a twisty-turny melody of Lana Del Rey’s. Yet Rodrigo’s emotional presence is so strong throughout “Guts” — so believable even at its most unrelatable — that you never lose the sense of a specific young person navigating a trial of her own making.

GUTS is emphatic proof that Rodrigo isn't just good for a kid -- she's grown into an artist with plenty of things to say, and the confidence and eloquence to say them her way.
