I absolutely love this album. I have had it for about 2 or 3 months and i havent gotten sick of it. It just has something about it that captures me. John is so talented and he really outdid himself. Way to go John.

John Mayer is a pure example of a musician. He writes his own songs, plays on his own tracks, and seems to NEVER take a break.. This album is a must for all fans of John Mayer. He bridges the gap that Room for Squares left by placing "Heavier" guitar riffs and more emotionally charged lyrics. The man in a genious.

This is a great album that shows how much John Mayer has grown as not only an artist, but as a person as well.

After being uable to let previous JM albums leave the car cd player, this took me a few listens to get into. It's a great album. Simple and insightful. His flippant comments on life almost go by unnoticed, but John manages to sum up life in a few words. Each song has its own appeal. I can't put it in words, but this cd has a hold on me. Certainly becoming one of my most listened to albums to date... I think its almost worn out now.. haha.. Unreal!!! Every song is like poetry... John has a true talent when it coms to writing lerics that really mean something... and I'm sure most of us can relate to... BRAVO... I will continue to indulge in this album for many more years... I was nervous buying "heavier things" as I was desperately hoping he could consolidate his success from previous. I feel this is where so many artists fail, ending up being little more than "one hit wonders". "Heavier things" is a complicated, simple album ( like life!!). Although it isnt as good as his debute album it shows a man who is maturing and can offer more to his songs. Every time I listen to it, it sounds better and better. There are moments when that what I've just got to hear. It fills a place inside of me that wants to be soothed and enlightened at once.

John Mayer is amazing! His voice is like butter the way it is so smooth.. Heavier Things doesn't have just one song that pops out, but all of them do.... i've had the cd for almost a month now, and i still don't have a favorite! i can't narrow it down enough! YAY JOHN MAYER!!

This album shows how versitile he is as a songwriter. It includes slow and fast songs, jazzy and rock songs, etc. There is something for everyone. This CD (along with other Mayer cds) never leave my player. He is very talented and will contunue to be successful in the years to come!

Wow, since the day I got it (pre-ordered to be at my doorstep on the release date), it hasn't left my car CD player. It is absolutely amazing. There is just something truly gratifying about having each and every song appeal to the listener. John Mayer has the most insightful, poetic way with words...if you really listen to what he's saying, your heart can skip a beat. RIcky needs to calm down a bit hahah. So what if John Mayer did a Hendrix cover? I think it was pretty good. The guy's got credible guitar skill. You sound like you would start worshipping Hendrix's testicles if you got a hold of them. Relax dude.

"Wheel" is one of the best songs ever. This is John Mayer Best album out of the 4(I love all of them). John Mayer has alot of detractors just because he has so many fans but he is a great artist. Blending soft rock with blues, he is amazing. If you like John Mayer try " Justin Nozuka" !!!!!

Another great album. He can sing reasonably, writes his own songs and has incredible chops. This album shows his growing range as well as his willingness to expand his style from the first album. This guy will be in the music sceen for a long time coming. If you have the chance to see him live, it is absolutely worth it, especially if you are into the guitar. John does it again. It's quite good, showing another facet of his songwriting and guitar abilities. However, the solos on the album don't capture what he's fully capable of... perhaps that's to draw the fans to see him live (which I highly recommend). People who appreciate Mayer's music will definitely be not disappointed, and this album will probably win over John does it again. As Mayaer talks himself in circles you hear an artist facing massive success, and retreating from it. [Dec 2003, p.112]
