Jul 6, 2023The only good part about the album is the instrumentals. This sounds like they threw in random loud noises and called it "experimental". Some songs like "Eat Men Eat" actually sound coherent unlike most songs on the album, however I would never willingly go back and listen again.

Jul 26, 2022Excellent record. Not quite on the level of Schlagenheim, but massive improvement over Cavalcade. Production is massively better too (thank you Marta Salogni; the guy who produced everything on Cavalcade other than John L really made it sound like a gross mushy mess).

Jul 16, 2022Decent new black midi album, personally the instrumentation is a bit over the top at times and I’m still not awfully fond of the singers voice. Favourite Track: Welcome To Hell.

Sep 8, 2022With their third LP, Black Midi continue to put out adventurous and challenging music that keeps listeners on the tips of their toes.

Aug 11, 20222021's Cavalcade found the group exploring a lushly orchestrated avant-prog sound, switching between spiky, angular workouts and softer, more patient compositions. Hellfire moves further in this direction, but with a greater sense of showmanship.

Jul 18, 2022‘Hellfire’ is at once goofy and high brow. A volcanic eruption of serious silliness.
