Are you in a mood for some fun? Dance moves? Or complete escapism? Midnight Dreams opened the album with a great tone to the right direction - Goulding’s vocals stand out when the chorus hit: ‘All I think about, you are my energy…’ one thing she does well, constantly well, is adding her uniqueness to a song, and this is the best part of this song, even this album, as the heavy productionAre you in a mood for some fun? Cure for Love is a lovely response to New Heights / New Love, her past works. By the end of the night, however, turns up a different vibe to her previous works but with an 80s groove telling you to stand up and just enjoy yourself.

Like a Saviour smartly used flute (doesn’t it remind you of Gimme Gimme Gimme?), while the strongest stand outs are yet to come until you hear Love Goes On & Let it Die. Love Goes On is a classic Ellie Goulding but now on the dance floor; Let it Die shows her ability to lyric writing and vocal performance.

Another standout is Tastes Like You - if you have enjoyed Halcyon & Delirium from her, this is an instant click for you: ‘heartache still tastes like you’.

Finally, while not yet on the album, Goulding’s latest collaboration with Calvin Harris is also a career highlight for her as a vocalist.

For years, people have been debating whether to like her voice - seems like a clear yes or no answer from most of the people. No matter you like her as a vocalist or not, you can’t deny that she has given her career a range of possibilities with different music styles - for that, this album is another triumph for the songstress.

Higher Than Heaven is an album full of dance pop tracks and doesn't pretend anything else, this is Ellie's music as it's best. For people who misses the ballads (which we all know Ellie do it so well) go to listen to her previous album!

It may not be a personal album but it's very danceable and it delivered what it promised: joy and love in a post-pandemic moment. Amazing!!!

Even that's her "least personal" album, it's still pampered and amazing project. It's buttoned up the last button. Ellie with this compehesive album takes her fans on a party free off troubles. Dancefloors should get ready as they soon will meet new Ellie.

This is a flawless pop album. Pop is supposed to be fun, uplifting, carefree! This is a 16 track journey of indulgent joy. Ellie Goulding is one of our most diverse artists and some of these songs are the best in her discography. Let It Die was hands down one of the best singles in 2022, and it was so impressively executed. Midnight Dreams might be her best album opener. I can't stressThis is a flawless pop album. This is a true improvement and maybe the biggest surprise of the year for me. I'll also dare to say that this is the best of Ellie Goulding I've heard ever. I won't paste the whole production list, but I clap their efforts for bringing up such a voice with a lot of power. (2020) of Jessie Ware, which was my favorite album of that year. Maybe not that fantastic, but this is the right track to be a worthy contender to best Pop music of the decade so far. This album is simply joyous and full of bops from start to finish. Ellie has given up on requiring an album to be full of introspection and meaning and has made an album everyone can celebrate and relate to. Loved every minute

The fact that she said this is her "least personal" album and it's bigger and better than a lot of contemporary pop albums out there is simply amazing. There's a dance spirit on the album, but at the same time, There's a darkness in the concept.

You might like it if you like: Tove Lo, Roisin Murphy, Robyn, Loreen, Madeon. Genre: Electro pop, synthpop, dance pop

She’s distinct enough of a vocalist that even if some of the songs start to bleed into each other or sound a bit monotonous, her charisma and talents shine through, making even the most rote of Higher Than Heaven sound pretty special.

Higher Than Heaven is pure candy floss in the best way – little substance, but the sugar rush is so immaculate it ends up not mattering.
  3. 80
Goulding’s spectacularly tremulous vibrato, raw mid-range and fluttery high notes imprint unique character on everything she sings. It’s a voice that can make even her “least personal” record sound very personal indeed.
