This album really shows Tyler's Full potential and shows that he can make different style of music, IGOR is basically a journey through this cycle of Jealousy, Love, Heartbreak, and creating a LOOP at the end of the album.

first of all, I think this albums concept is brilliant, and the way the story is executed into the music is perfect. We start off the album with “Igor’s Theme”. this song starts with a 30 second note of a synth being played. It leaves you to wonder why this is taking so long. After the time is it up amazing sampled drums to kick in. After the time is it up amazing sampled drums to kick in. I think this intro song is perfect in the way it sets up the entire album. next, with the second track on the album, we have the most viral song, EARFQUAKE. This isn’t your typical dance/Internet song. It’s filled with many different layers that all the hard work and time with many different featured artists to work on this track it paid off. My personal take on Carti’s lines are all positive, although many people dislike them. As we go onto this track, we see character progression, which is a common theme in concept album. for those who don’t know, this album is about a guy who falls in love with someone else else of the same gender, who is already dating a female. The album starts off with your eczema. How is falling in love, then goes on revenge rants, and makes crazy threats. When we get to the second to last track of the album titled, I don’t love you anymore. It is exactly how it sounds and for the last bit, are we still friends, my personal favorite off the album I think really sets the tone. and I think that’s a songs in an album that really set the tone of the album, and carry the most weight, the most popular song, the intro, and the finale. I think this album did a great job of that, nevertheless, the music was pleasing to listen to. I give it a… 9.6. Expand

10/10 - IGOR is insanely good. With unmatched self-production, lyrics to make you think, and a beautiful variety of sounds flawlessly fading into each other, IGOR is classified as a genre-defying masterpiece. Each track compliments the others, with transitions and a common sound to tie the project together and grant it the 10/10 status it deserves.

It's a usual project including mixes of alternative R&B, neo-soul, trap and rap. It flawed too. It's not a typical Tyler, the Creator's style, since it's a R&B dominant rather than a rap one. Other than that, it's wacky (in the best way), excitable, and surprisingly addicting. This project shows how prominent Tyler can prove that he can sing.

IGOR is a beautiful, extremely cohesive, and well-produced album. it's about falling in love for a boy, realizing how dangerous it is, and ultimately realizing he has to let him go, all this on a 39-minute conceptual album - one of the most well-achieved conceptual albums i've ever heard.

while the opening is a beautiful, tone-setting melody hinting us about the album we are about to experience, IGOR closes with «ARE WE STILL FRIENDS?» - a painfully, melancholic and heavenly song that showcases the denouement of the album - igor finally coming to terms with the unrequited love he pursues, while wanting to still have some kind of connection to the boy he loves, perhaps knowing it is the only way they can be together, forever masking his remaining feelings for him, just as the boy he loved would mask who he really was.

Incredible. Just incredible. Tyler's artistic evolution since the start of his career is unmatched by any other musician. He has gone from a teenager from a collective of outcasts (Odd Future) who just wanted to offend old people and give teens songs to listen to when they're feeling rebellious to one of the most mature and talented rappers in the game. This album shows how much he has grown. From addicting, emotional songs like the most popular song off of the album, EARFQUAKE to hard hitting bangers like WHAT'S GOOD and NEW MAGIC WAND, this album is incredible. The weakest song on the album in my opinion is RUNNING OUT OF TIME, don't get me wrong, this song is still good, it's just the weakest out of the incredible catalog of this masterpiece of an album. This album changed my life and I will be forever grateful for this beautiful piece of music. Expand

A good edition to Tyler's already impressive discography, IGOR is the best break up album this decade and every song just seems to flow great with each other. Igor has a lot more highs than lows but even then the lows are still present, I was disappointed with are we still friends as it felt out of place and an awkward place to leave the album at.

I really enjoyed this album. There is a lack of lyrics but when there is lyrics Tyler is absolutely SPITTING, using double ontageras such as “A boy is a gun” meaning a boy can keep Igor safe but it can also seriously hurt him. The production is a really big part in this album. Igor’s Theme is a great example of the great production the synths are beautiful it’s such a great song to just get in a car and drive around with your friends or your special someone in the sunset. The song says it itself “Riding ‘round town we gin’ feel this one”. Anyone that says that this album is a 0-4 then it’s a fact that you’re wrong. Not everything is about the lyrics, I feel that music is about the vi e it gives off Igor is such a sunset type album. Igor has one bad quality is that it feel like it isn’t Tyler’s album there are so many features there are song where Tyler just is a producer but it isn’t that important only -1. Overall amazing album :) Expand

It sounds very modern, but with nothing at all interesting to it, like every unsuccessful artist in my Spotify Discover Weekly playlist, so it's a mystery to me why he is so popular.

this is, without a doubt, my favorite conceptual album i've ever heard. no the best, but up there. a story that could have been told in a 1000 pages book, yet it was told through music, and it's perfect. love the production, love the features, the samples. what an album.

Almost perfect. I say almost because I have a few problems with the mixing on some songs, but damn. Damn.

Best Tyler album ever. The singular theme sharpens Tyler's focus and he delivers on every single track. Try starting this album and not listening all the way through. Mix of bangers, self aware slow tracks that never dissapoint. Tyler continues to demonstrate both personally and professionally.

An experimental album showcasing the true growth in Tyler's career. It combines various genres into the making of a conceptual and cohesive tragic love story. The compelling character development story immerses the listener into Tyler's world. The production is off the charts and fitting to the story at hand. One of the most well written and produced records of the entire decade.

This is among the most mature hip-hop records I've heard, but it's also exciting and fun to listen to on the first time through. Tyler's best work.

IGOR is a masterpiece. the production blends genres like hip hop, pop, r&b, and soul equally. it's tyler's best yet, and that goes for his songwriting as well. he raps, but he sings all over the place, and sounds beautiful too. that's a testiment to his production, but also, to his refined songwriting. what makes IGOR stick out from the rest of his albums, however, is his storytelling. this heartbreaking love story is deep, and highly relatable. above all, the way that he tells it is absolutely gorgeous. Flower Boy is great, but its successor is perfect. IGOR is Tyler, The Creator's best album to date.

Igor is a very good album, not just good, but not great. Tyler keeps the listener on the edge of their seat at every different level of listening to the album. Igor is a magical experience. It really shows Tyler's evolution not only musically but also individually. Tyler is able to tell a story throughout the album that shows a personal change within him. The instrumentalism is perfect. After his experiences with Cherry Bomb, it is evident that Tyler learnt a lot and was able to create this purposefully bad mixing on this album. Igor is Tyler'sIgor is a magical experience. Things improve markedly when he plays to his strengths with the nuanced narrative of “A Boy Is A Gun”, but ultimately such moments [are] hard to hear over the pitiable “Puppet” and “Earfquake”, functional pop wisely rejected by Justin Bieber and Rihanna. When the narrative sags and his mind seems to wander, it just isn’t enough, no matter how stylish the trimmings. [Aug 2019, p.68]

For the most part, Tyler has opted out of his rapping heritage, preferring pitch-altered singing vocals which will split some opinion. However, this elevated IGOR beyond the mere confines of genre, to a substantially great work of art, cementing Tyler's case as one of this decade's most essential artists.

It’s an intriguing album with few dips (only Kanye’s verse on Puppet sounds rather phoned in and lacklustre), and it adds up to Tyler, The Creator’s best work to date. He may not be threatening Western civilization anymore, but he is creating something far more interesting.
