It's by far King Gizzard's most hard hitting and heavily distorted album. Seriously good songwriting done on this album. One song seamlessly fades into the next. There's not a dull moment on this. It's also my favorite project of theirs to date.

A psychedelic concept album that has some absolutely mind-blowing, face-melting moments of intense and also some more relaxed jamming. An incredibly cohesive album, despite a slight mid-album slump in originality, in that some of the previous tracks feel somewhat rehashed and recycled until the Slow Jams come in to win the way.

I would recommend this album to fans of psychedelic rock,

It rates amongst the best three or four post-millennial psychedelic rock records. [Jan 2015, p.95]

In other hands, this would make for a frustrating listen, but there's a melodic warmth to mainman Stu Mackenzie's cosmic musings. [Jan 2015, p.120]

They’re too wilfully mad to emulate Tame Impala’s success, but if you’re after a freaking out, King Gizzard & The Lizard Wizard’s outrageous noise deserves attention.
