Impending apocalypse aside, Infinite Summer still proves itself to be a record of substance.

Infinite Summer is the classic case of an album that’s so fully-melded, so self-composed in its identity, that you get the nagging sense of déjà vu, that you’ve been here before, and yet it’s something brand new.

If the album has a weakness it's that, for all its pop pretentions, it doesn't really have too many hooks. Its strength is not in delivering an immediate shot of aural adrenaline but rather in creating a dark, dramatic mood.

Whilst there are many other bands doing futuristic disco, many of which band members have worked with, NZCA Lines’ unrelenting quest for a great hook and massive chorus pushes them ahead of the pack.

Despite the familiarity, Infinite Summer has a heart, and could probably melt permafrost with a single playing. [Nov 2016, p.79]

Infinite Summer's sci-fi pop blossoms under headphones, but it doesn't always live up to the promise of NZCA Lines or its concept.

Some suitably dramatic music. [Feb 2016, p.115]
