Starting out heavy as all hell, and slowly taking you deeper into a psychedelic hard rock spiral of dream like pieces with some catchy hooks, crisp yet aged production, and an overall kickass contemporary hard rock album.

I was just looking for some vinyl in my vinyl store, and so than I have listened this album I just stopped. This is really good! Mix of stiles...they are original!

Cosmic and eerie, the disc pays ample homage to the influences from whom IV swipes its title.

For one of Black Mountain’s principal strengths is that they don’t just create rock music, they use a lot of different styles alongside it, complementing and contrasting. Unfortunately on IV they lose their essential focus, giving us plenty of style but rather less content.

It blunts and softens its influences, whether heavy rock or soul or krautrock, and delivers them in a medium-temperature hippie haze.
