J-Hope shows everyone how talented he is as part of a group and on his own. The concept of the album, the sound of it, the lyrics all incredibly interesting. I´m so happy he decided to show this other part of himself. Congratulations to him for nailing his first solo album.

The songs in this masterpiece are a rare jewel in their own way. Although, each song shows its individual shine and sound, the album is cohesive and tells the listeners an incredible story. It's surely a bop and make sure to give it a listen! Expand

Jack in the box is honestly, like tasting a main course from a five-star restaurant chef. It shows the skills and also the maturation of j-hope through the years. It highlighted once and for all the name of j-hope as one of the biggest names in current k-hip hop. It's perfect from start to finish.

This album is so well put together flowing from one song to the next with following the story J-Hope wants to tell. The songs show a very different and darker side to this very talented musician. Defiantly an album I want to listen to start through with no skips.

Jack in the BOX is a CONCEPT ALBUM with a very clear journey. I feel like it could have stopped with Future. Ending on a bright cheery song, as if that's is what clearly lies ahead. but no it ends with ARSON as to say two things. IM DONE, F*CK OFF, BURN IT. Or it's an amalgam of everything of what we feel about our future. It's precarious, as safe as dry kindling in a lightening storm THEJack in the BOX is a CONCEPT ALBUM with a very clear journey. An album with a complete storyline! Very few artistes are able to pull that off these days, but of course a fundamental member of BTS who releases storyline albums would do so himself too. Jack in the Box tells of j-hope’s becoming — from the origin of his stage name to his successes and deepest contemplations on his life and human life itself. Each song plays on different musical elements and has so many flow switches that all sound soo j-hope-esque. Only an artiste like him could pull off an album with so many blended elements and make it enjoyable to listen to. This is an album to listen to from the front to back because every song is just soo good. Definitely my favourite release of the year so far. An amazing album that showcases all the various strong points of J-Hope that some people could still not be aware of. An amazing body of art clearly crafted with care and love towards music and it’s meaning. A 10/10, but nothing less could be expected from a BTS member.

Great album, full of old school, classic hip-hop beats. The lyrics are beautiful and though-provoking. j-hope truly proved himself as a solo artist with this album, rightfully chosen as one of the Top 10 albums of 2022 by the Rolling Stone.

Nothing but bangers. No skips. This album is full of emotion, grit and introspection with a masterful and varied delivery. J-hope continually shows through his solo work that he has a gift for conceptualizing his artistic vision both lyrically and sonically. it's difficult to just listen to individual songs. Once I hear one, I end up just listening to the whole album. This is special.

It's amazing how each time you listen to this album from beginning to finish it gets better and better. The songs are so cohesive and powerful, the delivery that only J-hope is capable of give is outstanding. It's so different from Hope World but still so inherent to Hoseok. I love this.

Whether the music on Jack in the Box suits your taste or not, it’s hard to dismiss this album as an artistic statement rather than just chapter 1/7 of BTS proving they can also make money in ways beyond official group releases.

The artist born Jung Ho-seok delivers emotional depth and irresistible energy. Backed by rowdy production, his aggression, raspy delivery, and tongue-twisting bars take center stage, showcasing the rap-focused perspective that he brings to the BTS formula.

There’s an excellent three track run from “What if…,” an energetic song that samples Ol’ Dirty Bastard’s “Shimmy Shimmy Ya,” into mid-tempo standout “Safety Zone” before a touch of Hope World familiarity returns in the optimistic “Future.”
