    Properly chillaxed, the boys then go from Jekyll to Hyde and reveal their pop chops (and Britrock knowledge) with a handful of winning, Johnny-Marr-by-way-of-Felt janglers.

    Overall, the Jesus and Mary Chain's pop noise and the easier ride of Spiritualized could be seen as touchstones, though Surf City generally maintains an energy level that allows for dreamy coasting but without nodding out. [Apr - May 2015, p.87]
