From her first three albums, we see Lady Gaga as this perfect Dance-Pop/EDM legend who couldn't stop making bangers...and then we have 2016's Joanne?! Joanne is undeniably her weakest and most boring album to date, with songs that were demos taken from Taylor Swift's Red Album and turned into weak, inconsistent country pop songs that don't match with Lady Gaga's daring image. The songs were fine, but they didn't sound like a song Lady Gaga would make. For now, I'm sticking to her first three albums and Chromatica (since they sound like her). Expand

Es un álbum de sonidos algo agradables pero letras bastante repetitivas sin mensajes claros ni nada creo que hubieron 3 canciones buenas el resto no me gusto.

I don't understand that pick of Perfect Illusion to be it's lead single. I think it's album's weakest song, but okay, it charted quite okay.
Gaga proves she can sing jazz, she can sing opera and now she shows us her story with soft rock/country music and it's amazing.
So many songs deserve to be singles. Dancing in Circles, John Wayne, Diamond Heart, A-Yo - these rocky/poppy songs are albums best.
Ballads such as Joanne, Million Reasons,Sinner's Pray, Hey Girl and Angel Down hit me for the first listening.
It's shame people didnt even heard these songs a totally forgot the album.
Surely it's not her best seller, did't have a chart topper but it has a place in people's hearts.

This is probably her worst album.
The only song I enjoyed was Joanne (the piano version), after that a terrible lead single and bland, mediocre songs after.
Country isn’t her thing at all, she should go back to Born This Way kind of pop

It's hard to imagine that a phenomenal big star became so bad. In the past, she reached the top of pop music world and leaded the trend. But now, she is just so mediocre.

what a boring, uninspired and lazy album. Gaga screams all the time awful and predictable ballads, Hey girl in probably the worst track, but Million Reasons makes my ears bleeding

This album by Lady GaGa is another desperate try to reach a new audience after many of her several loyal fans jumped off after the disaster named ArtPOP. The album starts with a song that totally made me cry..... out of pain. Terrible album by GaGa.

She is trying desperately to be recognized as a good singer, and that is what is making her so annoying and boring. Her worst album to date! The only two songs that I really like is Angel down and Joanne, the other ones just feed my garbage bin. She can do much better!

She tried too hard to make something authentic, but it just isn't. It's actually very artificial.
The lyrics are a mess, as usual, they don't tell a coherent story nor are technically good. The melodies are overproduced when it's clear that the intention was to make something raw and organic. The vocals are more of the same: Gaga still trying to prove that she can sing and yelling too

The songs are individually bad and the album as a whole is a mess. Don't believe the monsters!

Ruim demais, Gaga mostrando que atira pra todo lado em busca de sucesso. Soa tão falso em identidade e personalidade... Não é "ruim", mas tá bem longe de ser bom!

Gaga may show variety and growth on the album, but the album is bland, very boring. I just wanted more because the lead single 'Perfect Illusion' was so good.

It is with great pain for me to say that Joanne is not the record that will change me like The Fame Monster or Born This Way. Any shred of the avant-gaga flair is gone. The personal is no longer the performance and the external is no longer the internal (thank you NYT). Perhaps she is going back to Red and Blue while I am going forward on to Vulnicura. Either way even the most avid fansIt is with great pain for me to say that Joanne is not the record that will change me like The Fame Monster or Born This Way. Any shred of the avant-gaga flair is gone. The personal is no longer the performance and the external is no longer the internal (thank you NYT). Perhaps she is going back to Red and Blue while I am going forward on to Vulnicura. Either way even the most avid fans of this record would not disagree she has gone backwards to her pre-gaga sound. The first half plays with some interesting ideas but with these glittering ideas comes awkwardly direct lyrics. In the second half of Joanne country bumpkin Gaga comes out to say, "Hey look what I can do,' and not a single fan was gained on that day (of course only time will tell to prove me right or wrong). Trolling aside Lady Gaga on the bonus tracks decides that pinot grigio is the correct wine to connect with her fellow woman-kind even though riesling is obviously better. There is a intense depression lying underneath the record expressed through Gaga's inability to pronounce the english language. This depression is also reminiscent of my now dead childhood.
The album clumsily starts with the powerfully sung "Diamond" and lazily spoken "Heart". "Diamond Heart" pushes through with some lovely build ups and power choruses. "A-YO" plays with some great guitar playing similar to Wild Beasts with a country flair only to be driven by the viciously mundane Megan Trainor-esque "blow it in your face" and the awfully tacky clappity beat as well as steamy lyrics that leave nothing to the imagination. She left the disco stick in the trash and instead just wants you to get off on her- oh and there’s a mirror on the ceiling? "Joanne" is drenched in painful, hurtful even, honesty as well as some delightful lyrics I wish I could ask Gaga myself in the chorus, “Girl, where do you think you’re going?” "John Wayne” and “Dancing in Circles" are some of the high points of the record but goes full on lyrically country bumpkin Gaga and touch myself Gaga circa “So Happy I Could Die.” While I wasn’t pleased with Perfect Illusion originally it sounds wonderful when listening to it in the context of the album because it’s the only moment that has absolutely no country so far. The next song that actually matters is “Hey Girl” and it is tasty as all hell. Florence and Gaga is an unexpected heaven. My only complaint is the utter abuse of the title; one should not be able to begin the verse and the chorus the exact same way.
Of course it goes with out saying, I am clearly not a country fan- but I do not believe many Lady Gaga fans are. But alas Yoü and I had a subtle twang- so I suppose it wasn’t completley out of the blue. While my review is attempting at some humor I am legitimately disappointed as Lady Gaga was my original musical awakening. There will be no musical awakening ushered on by Joanne. Now, I will proceed to play the banjo, grab a cowboy hat, jump on a horse, and pretend to like this album.

I love Lady Gaga but I can say that this is the worst album of her career, may have convinced the other people but I do not. Too bad for a level Lady Gaga.

Unfortunately, therein lies the biggest problem with Joanne: for every time that Gaga seemingly breaks free of her shackles and embraces something more “real,” she quickly scuttles back into her comfort zone and hides behind glistening production. This probably isn’t quite the sound of the real Stefani Germanotta, but if you squint hard enough there’s a semblance of a real person in amongst the pop haze.

Joanne is certainly not the all-conquering opus it was intended to be and will prove divisive, but it remains a daring and exciting record, delivered from one of modern pop’s most unique and singular voices.
