    She said a lot of times "the wait will worth it" and damn, she was right! One of the best albums I've ever experienced.

    Best song: Unless It's With You.
    Worst: can't say by now. Will Update maybe when I get tired of one of the songs!

After a safe and forgetful album like Lotus and a string of very commercial and radio-friendly collaborations, miss Aguilera decides to get real and raw and remind us all why she’s such an icon and a major influence for so many artists. After a safe and forgetful album like Lotus and a string of very commercial and radio-friendly collaborations, miss Aguilera decides to get real and raw and remind us all why she’s such an icon and a major influence for so many artists. Christina teams up with notorious figures from the current hip-hop scene like Kanye West and pop scene like Julia Michaels and MNEK, but also many extremely talented underdogs. Discovering and giving a chance to new talents is something Aguilera has done for a while now, and maybe that’s what helped her reach a climax where Pop is more moldable than ever before, embracing R&B, Hip-Hop, Rock and Reggae influences. Her versatile and one of a kind voice has no trouble in meeting with soulful and vocally challenging ballads/power-ballads (Twice, Fall In Line) while also adapting itself to simple, playful and sexy beats (Right Moves, Like I Do, Pipe). What makes this album so bright and memorable is those moments when Aguilera gets personal and takes no shorts: in Maria (her middle name but also the name of the main role of The Sound Of Music, which she samples in the intro for this song, Searching For Maria), she opens up her heart to the listener and dramatically expresses how she lost her passion for music in the way, which she wants to find again desperately; in Sick Of Sittin’, indirectly references the impact wrong professional choices had on her, rebelling herself to what the industry expects from her and searching for freedom and individuality; and at last but not least, the exquisite Unless It’s With You, where her voice is softer than ever and romantically opens her arms to love again to her significant one, after past heartbreaks.     Tem feats desnecessários. Accelerate é bem esquisita, a cara estampada de Kanye, o rapper do refrão destoa absurdamente da voz da Christina, sendo o ponto negativo do álbum.
    Os combos Liberation, Searching for Maria e Maria junto a Dreamers e Fall in Line são os pontos positivos, sendo Maria a    Álbum realmente bom, as introduções são de fato necessárias e complementam bem as musicas.

Each song is written carefully and contains meaningful lyrics that I'm sure everyone will find themselves in at least one song. There are some songs that need second or third listening, but all songs eventually grow in you. This album is amazing!… Expand

    Such an amazing album!!! Liberation by Christina Aguilera deserves GRAMMYs. The vocal is on point and heavenly. To those who always think she is over-singing, give this album a try, so many layers of vocals that prove that she is still the voice of our generation. The songs are so addictive, I have them on replay non-stop. Best album of the year!

    Her best album this decade. The diva, Xtina is now back with 15 tracks album that fit with each emotions of a human being. The amazing ballad such as Deserve and Unless It's With You, and mid tempo gems like Pipe, Accelerate, Like I Do and Maria are her best works in years. A Masterpiece.

    The Queen of reinvention..Liberation ..a title that indeed describes Christina... I had no doubt that she will bring something special to this music era which was indeed suffering of inspiration.. it may not be a masterpiece like Back to Basics or Bionic .. but still with Aguilera you cant have trash music..Beautifully well put album.. from the Photoshoots to the music ..     This is her best album since Back To Basics though personally I consider Bionic as one of her best as well. Liberation indeed has given her the rebirth she needed when it comes to vocals and artistry.

    Right Moves, Pipe, Sick Of Sitting or Accelerate can all be considered standout tracks but i would say that Maria is the most exciting track on the album, the Jackson 5 sample is genius.

    The album has been on repeat since it was released, however, I can't imagine it's getting much airplay.
    Christina is an artist, albeit a pop star - she is a true artist and Liberation solidifies that.

    Liberation starts with a gorgeous orchestral piece, and tackles many    After years of absence in the music landscape (bar the few singles released here and there, "Say Something" and "Change" to name a few), Aguilera finally comebacks with a grandiose effort that made me forget about Lotus, an innocuous pop album that definitely is not up to par with the huge talent Aguilera possesses.
    Liberation starts with a gorgeous orchestral piece, and tackles many themes and styles in the same way Aguilera has accustomed us in her long career (see Stripped, Back To Basics and Bionic). Then Aguilera sings gracefully a little bit of "The Sound Of Music" to introduce, what I consider the heart and the true masterpiece of this piece of work, "Maria", a song -produced by Kanye West, and with a Jackson 5 sample- that feels cinematic and dramatic and in which the singer questions her own existence (Maria is Aguilera's middle name). Aguilera now wants to sing for all the right reasons, like she did when she was a little girl in love with the purity of music. But life happened, and that little girl was lost and, finally found. A beautiful and sincere glimpse of where Aguilera is in her life now.
    "Sick Of Sittin'", produced by Anderson .Paak, is reminiscent of the funkadelic/soul movement (no surprise "SoS" was praised by music legend George Clinton!), and also reminds me of Michael Jackson in the way Aguilera repeats the chorus. When two talents like .Paak and Aguilera collides, the result is mind-blowing.
    Track #5 is "Dreamers", interlude to "Fall in Line", a belt-astic and powerful duet with Demi Lovato. Like Aguilera herself, Lovato had a troubled past that she overcame with strength and remarkable resilience. Combined with the lungs she has, Lovato is the perfect choice for this collaboration. "Fall In Line" is a strong and empowering feminist anthem (to which Aguilera is no stranger, "Can't Hold Us Down", fourth single off of "Stripped" comes to mind). Classic Aguilera, through and through. And that key change is all kind of amazingness!
    With track #6 the tone of the album shifts, and becomes more light. "Right Moves", featuring Keida and Shenseea, is a fun, sexy and reggae sounding song. Despite the very relaxed approach vocal wise on this track, Aguilera still offers beautiful harmonies and a very interesting belt.
    "Like I Do" is the other .Paak produced song of the album, after "SoS". But it's nothing like the latter, proving how Aguilera and Anderson are a very dynamic and creative duo when together. Featuring GoldLink (that funnily and cleverly cites other Aguilera hit songs in his verse, like "Ain't No Other Man" and "Genie In A Bottle"), the track has an infectious beat (that flute is stuck on my mind!) and displays Aguilera musicality and confident lyrics.
    After two very groovy and vibey songs, "Liberation" is reflective again. "Deserve" (my personal second favorite after "Maria") transports us in a spacelike and dreamy dimension. The theme of this song is very much relatable, stating the complexity of relationships, and the way we sometimes self-sabotage them. "Do I deserve you?" is the big question Aguilera asks. With a booming chorus, a crystal clear vocal production, and ambient pop production provided by MNEK (whose voice can be heard in the background of the song, symbolizing the duality of a relationship) "Deserve" is one of the gems "Liberation" can offer.
    Track #10, "Twice" comes right after. The emotional and stripped-down ballad starts with a gorgeous acapella, and has a double meaning: could be applied to a relationship, but -as stated from Aguilera- also refers to her music career. The singer comes to term with everything that happened to her, the good and the bad.
    "I Don't Need It Anymore (Interlude)" is a reprise of "SoS" and proceeds "Accelerate". Aguilera doesn't need all the pain expressed in the two previous tracks anymore. "Change is in the air", in fact!
    "Accelerate", featuring Ty Dolla $ign and 2 Chainz and produced by K.West is a big and bold statement from Aguilera. Everything is unconventional here: the tribal drums that opens up the track, the back and forth between Aguilera and Ty Dolla $ign, the long outro with just ad-libs and synths! Without doubts, the most musically exciting Aguilera has been in a long time.
    "Pipe", featuring mysterious XNDA, is the most sensual song of the record and showcases another side of Aguilera's voice. She never sounded so girly before (not even on her debut album!).
    "Masochist", despite the interesting production (reminiscent of the 80's), is what I consider the weakest link of the album. It lacks a bit of oomph that would have elevated the song.
    The album now comes to the end with "Unless It's With You", the perfect closer and THE ballad of "Liberation". Produced by Ricky Reed, the song reflects on marriage and is a vocal masterclass, embellished with sweet sounding falsettos and majestic belts. Timeless masterpiece!

Aguilera returned and proved she is a force to be reckon with. This album deserves all the success for the masterpiece it truly is.… Expand

    I am so happy Xtina is back! I have been a fan since "Reflection" in 1998. This may be the Album of Summer '18.

    People expecting another Stripped need to let it go. There won't be another Stripped. That was 2002. Christina was still a girl then. She's a woman of 37 now. She couldn't possibly replicate Stripped even if she wanted to. And why would any true artist want to repeat herself?    I am so happy Xtina is back! I have been a fan since "Reflection" in 1998. This may be the Album of Summer '18.

    People expecting another Stripped need to let it go. There won't be another Stripped. That was 2002. Christina was still a girl then. She's a woman of 37 now. She couldn't possibly replicate Stripped even if she wanted to. And why would any true artist want to repeat herself? Better yet, why would any true fan expect the same album every time? Are you stuck in 2002?

    Stripped was iconic and special to millions of people. We will always have it as a touchstone. But don't count Christina or her subsequent albums out-- she's still got it and always has something interesting to offer.

    Lotus was hit and miss for me-- although Blank Page is a favorite of mine-- but Liberation has a flow and it's cohesive. And for those pining away for Stripped Part 2, Liberation has the same R&B/Soul flavor with Rapper collabs.

    This album should empower women and other disenfranchised people. Women can find Liberation through solidarity with other women, seeking their personal truth, and owning their sexuality.

    This album is not for the masses. It does not ride onto the top40 formula, consistent with the sensibilities and creativity of Stripped and Back to Basics. Ergo, it is fresh and dare I say intelligent. It is the music of thinking people.

    Once again she reinvents herself! Liberation is fresh, powerful and cozy at the same time. Christina plays with her voice in different rythms and proves, once again, how versatile she is. This was my favorite 2018 album!

    Christina Aguilera is the greatest singer in the world. Honestly, the most beautiful voice, the soul and the heart. On the top of that she's just doesn't care about charts anymore and that one of the reason why Liberation is so amazing : we don't feel like stupid sheep buyer but like we are blessed with a golden voice. This album is certainly no exception, as it contains some of her best vocal performances in years! Liberation is overall some of Aguilera's best work since Back To Basics in 2006. While it may not necessarily be her best album ever, Liberation is a worthy and quality addition to the excellent discography that Aguilera has given us over the years! For the first time ever she was chasing trends (dance pop), wasn’t involved in the songwriting on many songs and didn’t evolve as an artist. It felt rushed. "Liberation" picks up where the experimental andWhat a masterpiece! "Liberation" was an amazing return to form after Christina‘s previous album "Lotus" (2012). I don’t hate "Lotus" but it didn’t feel like an Xtina album at all. For the first time ever she was chasing trends (dance pop), wasn’t involved in the songwriting on many songs and didn’t evolve as an artist. It felt rushed. "Liberation" picks up where the experimental and misunderstood "Bionic" (2010) left off. Christina experiments again and and sings from her heart. The lyrics talk about self empowerment, feminism ("Fall in Line", self esteem ("Sick of Sittin"), her fiancé ("Unless It’s With You"), self reflection ("Maria") and sex of course ("Pipe" & "Right Moves"). The album has so many gems. "Accelerate" might‘ve been a terrible comeback single choice but it is definitely the best song on the album. It’s experimental, it’s different and fresh. Very urban. It had to grow on me but now I‘m obsessed with it. "Deserve" and "Twice" are two of the best and most beautiful ballads of her entire career. "Fall in Line" is an amazing, powerful feminist anthem and Demi Lovato was a great choice for a collaboration. "Pipe" and "Right Moves" are two EXTREMELY sensual and sexy songs. She has never sounded sexier. The reggae influenced "Right Moves" had to grow on me but now I love it. "Maria" is a great self-reflective album opener which uses a Michael Jackson sample. Xtina experiments with so many sounds on this album. Overall it has a very urban feel to it. There’s R&B, Hip-Hop, pop-rock, reggae, 80s music sounds, electro-pop and pop of course. It’s incredibly diverse but it still sounds so cohesive. What I also like about "Liberation" is the way she uses her amazing voice on this album. All her albums after "Stripped" (2002) were kind of hard to listen to as she was trying way too hard to show off what a great voice she has. Especially on "Lotus". But on this album we hear her voice in a very soft way ("Pipe" & "Right Moves") and she’s belting without oversinging or screaming. The album sounds current without trying too hard. It was definitely worth the looong wait. The only reason why I don’t give 10 points are the interludes. She could’ve kept all of them except for "Liberation". They are not terrible but unnecessary. Favorites: Accelerate, Deserve, Fall in Line, Twice & Maria… Expand

    Liberation never reaches the heights fans likely wanted from Xtina, it serves as a pleasant refresher for a voice that has earned its place in the annals of pop history. That said, it’s a bit sad to feel like her finest moments are, at least for now, also in her past.
