Truly an amazing album. I don’t like pop music too much but Madison did a great job with this album. Me and my kids, bop to this album everyday since it came out because it speaks about serious and mature topics, every artist should talk. Great job Madison!!!!

Such a good debut album!! Madison really took a different turn from what everyone was expecting from her and I loved how inspired she was by alternative music. "Follow the white rabbit" "Emotional Bruises" and "Stay Numb and Carry on" were my top 3, but this album was marvelous!! can't wait for more music from her

It is a very good album, which experiences pop, r&b and a little soul, the lyrics are very personal and tell the story about problems she went through, and they become more personal because she composes all and produces 16 songs from all over the world. the album, the sound quality and very good, I'm hooked.

Madison has evolved from her as she pleases EP so much, this album was EXTRAVAGANT and a MOMENT! every single song had their own type of meaning which correlated to the message she was trying spread and I look up to her so much for not letting people's opinions get to her.

From the heartbreaking ballads to the empowering anthems, Madison has provided a broad spectrum of sounds and artistic executions that provide insight into the life of a 21 year old woman and her struggles, conveying strong & relatable emotions through varied topics of discussion. Notably, the album pushes successfully beyond the boundaries of a breakup album and steps into the world of mental health struggles (Depression, Anxiety & Medication) and the rollercoaster of emotions that can follow (loss, fear, loneliness). Additionally, the album is full of personal flair. With the 'Rick & Morty' sample, to the astrology references, Life Support develops its own personality as a project that only Madison Beer could truly articulate. From the word-play, to the numerical countdowns, Madison Beer possesses a clear understanding of the formula to a great pop song and excels in execution. This is a debut for the history books and one that deserves better. Expand

I was roped in by her 2020 single 'Baby' (simply a great pop song), but I had my doubts on whether or not she was really worth the listen - honestly because I was judging her character by her beauty. I love discovering a good album, good song, good music and true artist. That's what I got here with Madison. This is a debut from an artist who has been in the industry for not too long. She is still figuring her sound and style, and this was an amazing leap into what her career could be. Expand

Her debut EP "As She Pleases" really felt like she was trying all different sounds and wanted to prove she was worthy, with "Life Support" she really showed that she is worthy and she's here to stay. Favorite songs: Sour Times, Homesick & Everything Happens For A Reason

It brings a new take on "Pop" and melts Madison's alternative and 60s influences with a traditional "pop" sound. In a time filled with so much trap and disco influencing pop, Madison's debut is refreshing and stands out amongst her peers. With vast versatility she brings back 60s slide guitar production, dabbles in early 2000s pop with her Britney inspired track "Baby", and a presents a strong "Radiohead" influence on the track "Stained Glass" yet manages to keep it all cohesive. The production is refined and very cinematic. It sounds straight out of a movie at times, and is very telling of Beer's personality. This album show cases Beer's struggles with self harm, psychiatric treatment, borderline personality disorder, sexual assault, and depression, through the lens of a break up. Though no matter how crippling dealing with these topics may be, Madison shows the reality of handling these issues in real time. Not everyday is going to be a low. The peaks and valleys of this album are extremely relatable, one day you may wake up with a smile, and the next in tears. Through 17 tracks, (an intro, 2 interludes, and an outro included) you can see how Beer tackles this breakup head on, hauntingly singing "I fear this will be the death of me", and ending as she somberly sings "Guess it's true I'm never getting over you." This album is a great listen with gorgeous lyrics that take you deeper into Madison's personal life, "So I hold myself to breathe, hurt me so I feel used to do these things so effortlessly." being a clear standout. Wow.. if Madison didn’t already convince you she’s more than a pretty face with her well crafted mainstream pop EP “As She Pleases” back in 2018 then, alternative pop “Life Support” will definitely smack you in the face and give you that reminder. “Life Support” is an honest and vulnerable piece of work that will keep you on the edge of your seat for 46 minutes. Whether she tacklesWow.. if Madison didn’t already convince you she’s more than a pretty face with her well crafted mainstream pop EP “As She Pleases” back in 2018 then, alternative pop “Life Support” will definitely smack you in the face and give you that reminder. “Life Support” is an honest and vulnerable piece of work that will keep you on the edge of your seat for 46 minutes. Whether she tackles subjects like mental health issues on the beautiful and haunting “Effortlessly”, toxic relationships on the energizing trap-pop “Good in Goodbye” or even sexual assault on the psychedelic pop (à la Tame Impala) “Sour Times”, Madison does not shy away from talking about taboo/difficult subjects in her music which sets her apart from most of her peers in terms of lyrical content. The production of the songs is the cherry on top. From Radiohead to Tame Impala to Lana Del Rey to Daft Punk to name a few, it is clear that her musical inspirations reflect on the album which is definitely not a bad thing since Madison always adds her flavor to the recipe which elevates the song to a whole other level. Madison pours her heart out on “Life Support” and we can definitely tell she was involved in the writing process of her songs since the lyrical content of all those songs sound way too personal to have been written for her. Indeed she wrote on every song of the album (17 songs) and even co-produced 16 tracks out of 17 which is quite impressive given the fact that it’s only her debut. In conclusion, “Life Support” is a strong record that could definitely be Madison’s key to success if she keeps milking singles off this album and has better promotion. This album definitely sets her apart from the crowd and I think she’s definitely on her way to become the next big thing if she plays her cards right. Expand

It's ILLEGAL how good this album is!! Every song is so perfectly produced, the lyrics are so beautiful, talking from mental issues to heartbreaks and self worth. All songs sound so unique but at the same time they coexist SO perfectly. Worth the 3 or 4 years wait for this 17 incredible bops. Really is an amazing debut album.

Every intricate detail stitches this album together, like a perfectly-woven dress. There isn’t a moment where Beer lacks & undercuts her message of vulnerability & sensuality. The production & lyricism is far from what the public imagined she’d be delivering. This album is commendable and beautiful. Congrats

While some tracks could stand to have their ideas explored more fully – in particular “Default” which ends suddenly right as things start to swell – this is still a satisfying listen from start to finish.
  3. On a lesser album, the eclecticism might lead to a lack of coherence, but this record is always threaded through with Beer’s diaristic lyricism. With its consistent, gut-punching honesty and witty wordplay, you’ll always find something special on ‘Life Support’.
