It's Mark still doing what he's been doing for what - seven or eight years now? By now you'll know if you're on board with this rambling style he's developed, for what it's worth this is one of his most successful ventures in this new style he's devised.

Mark Kozelek is a thoroughly modern album, one doesn’t separate the art from the artist but collapses the two completely.

His albums are usually quite long, but this one with its near hour and a half runtime might be a chore to sit through for even the most die-hard Sun Kil Moon fans. But there are some extraordinary movements on this thing.

Mark Kozelek is by no means a masterwork, nor is it the overwrought disaster it threatened to be, but instead another collection of songs from someone who just cannot stop writing, cannot stop releasing and, more often than not, hits the emotional marks he aims at, in however scattershot a way.
