This album was the one that made world known of ghost potential and is one of their, if not, their best record, they knew exactly what they were doing and performed awesome songs without losing their music style

The Ghost album ever, heavy but still pop-like. Just a fun listen with a nice blend of the album. Circe is THE GHOST SONG ever. If you don't want to listen to this album at least listen to this one track.

Ghost's best album. It's more ambitious than their debut (opus eponymous) because it features more musical influences and more dynamic songwriting.

Very catchy hooks, superb production, and with the same cleverness that Opus Eponymous had back when Ghost was just starting out. Great album and by far my favorite rock/metal band.

A BLAST. Ghost showed that they are able to create their sound to perfection in this album. Every song feels like an instant classic, maybe its because it was influenced by classic rock. still the fusion of Metal, Classic Heavy Rock and 80's Pop sounds... bas Ghost showed that for the 3rd time they are able to pull it off, better than ever.

This album combines the accessibility and catchiness with the energy of metal resulting in a near perfect set of songs. Not really sure why the critics rate it so lowly.
Fav Tracks: "Spirit", "Cirice", "From The Pinnacle To The Pit" and "Absolution"

Amazing album with that recognizable old school sound done in Ghost style. Not a single subpar song on the album as it ends flawlessly with "Deus in Absentia" and the choir singing at the end.

Let's start from the beginning. Ghost releases Opus Enonymous. An amazing first album from a fresh sounding metal band with a look that would really stand out and maybe even make the band look like a hardcore death metal sounding band. But that wasn't the case at all. Ghost is a different breed entirely bringing old school metal back and doing an amazing job with it. Fast forward to theirLet's start from the beginning. But that wasn't the case at all. Ghost is a different breed entirely bringing old school metal back and doing an amazing job with it. Fast forward to their second release Infestissumam which, despite mixed reviews, I thought was a great follow up even if it was a little less heavy than their first album. Meliora is their newest album and it's clear that Ghost have found the perfect sound and a good direction they want to head in. The album feels like a mash-up of the best of their first and second albums while also adding new things to the table to keep the album feel fresh and new. The album has a better first half then second as the whole thing feels like it's building up to the amazing church sounding hymn "He Is". After this song the album doesn't feel as strong as the first tracks leading up to it but that's not to say they aren't good. This album is great and Ghost is something fresh in this metal world of hardcore screaming and breakdowns everyone has come to expect at this point. Expand

These guys have crafted a perfect rock album in Meliora. Forget all the labels - this is !ROCK!

Dynamic yet cohesive. Supremely badass yet serene. Dense yet instantly captivating and memorable.

A lot of people are turned off by their getups, which is a shame because this record is a must listen!

Heavy metal’s friendly satanic contingent checked in again this year with their third album, where it appears that Ghost has finally solidified their sound. The previous two Ghost albums have been very good, but there was something about them that seemed trepidatious; as if a band that dresses in total disguise and writes metal hymnals to Satan could be holding anything back. The previous two Ghost albums have been very good, but there was something about them that seemed trepidatious; as if a band that dresses in total disguise and writes metal hymnals to Satan could be holding anything back. But, after listening to “Meliora”, I’m confident that the group has now come into their own and is writing their best music. As far as influences are concerned, I’m picking up less famous doom metal acts and more traditional Catholic mass music. I feel like I’m back in church sometimes, but instead of a normal priest at the altar, there’s Papa Emeritus III commanding the congregation to sing joyful odes to The Dark One. It’s consistently heavy, awe-inspiring, theatrical, and, of course, tongue-in-cheek. Can’t wait to see what they do next. Expand

Flawless album. Heavy lift after the tragedy that was Infestissumam. However yet far away from being Opus Eponymous.

This album is fantastic, it really is. Each song have it's own tone, it's own feeling and sound. It's dark at the same time as it's melodic.

A lot of metal bands now have aggressive vocalists, this is not one of them. Ghost has an old school heavy metal sound. The have a unique look and style. This I feel is their best album to date.

After something of a sophomore album slump, Ghost have come roaring back to sing the praises of Lucifer and remind us that classic heavy metal is still alive and well.

It’s hard to imagine having more fun with a metal album than with Meliora.

Somewhat against the odds, their otherworldly shtick still works brilliantly, even when briefly veering off track and letting slip an unapologetic nod towards thrash legends Slayer on the grim stomp of Cirice.
