In such cookie cutter times, it's refreshing to listen to a band that loves to have fun rocking out. Each track is it's own creation, and the album is short and sweet, not overdrawn. The critics just don't get it, this is what rock and roll is all about!

Not, bad. I guess I personally had a hard time getting over the chick voclas but, once I did I liked it. Morningwood are sort of part of that powerpop music movment but they are a good deal harder than there counterparts. There is some fun to have with this album.

Boy is this album being underrated by critics. Chantal Claret is delightfully sneering some times and playfully Go-Gos like other times. I had lots of fun.

'Take Off Your Clothes' is a wicked track, but if you take that away, nothing really stands out.

A decent attempt at getting kids to move to sexually charged care free tunes. Marred by the lack of diversity within the instruments, and song structure. Ultimately it tries to pay homage to the better moments in punk and alternative (The Stooges, Nirvana, Pixies, etc...) but ends up sounding like an anemic rip off. Key Tracks: Nu Rock, Everybody Rules, Take off Your Clothes,

High energy, post alternative that wakes you up and pulls you into the music while it entertains all your senses.

Maybe, for 40 minutes, we can all ignore what the scenesters and indier-than-thou reviewers are spouting at us and just LISTEN to the music. Congratulations to Morningwood- you've made a great first album.

Buy this album for "Nu Rock", and "The Nth Degree". The album as a whole however features brainless music, my four-year-old nephew could make. Its not nessecarily HORRIBLE, but it still isn't good.

Nth Degree is a great song, Ride The Lights is pretty good, Everybody Rules is passable. The rest is noisy, disorganized rubbish.

not bad at all. highly listenable, catchy, and something about the singer's voice is dead-on.

Very bad. Only redeemable tracks are "Nth Degree" "Jetsetter" and "Televisor". After that, this album gets boring, bland, and very blah. Not worth buying or downloading. Save your time on this one.

This album is really great. From Jetsetter to Nth Degree. I would definitely reccommend this neo-classic album to anyone who's into the genre.

  1. Morningwood does a great job at imitating, and they have spirit. But their spirit does not translate well to good listening, nor does it provoke the underwear-dancing and air guitar it hopes to achieve.
  2. Morningwood still feels like calculated fluff, even if it's calculated fluff that's mildly fun.

It's hard to take the band too seriously, but the songs are debaucherous fun. [14 Jan 2006]
