Jun 20, 2018A masterpiece of alternative R & B. A moved story of love and lack of love that impresses in each of its stages. It seems to me very subtle but at the same time it needs the way in which Abel tells this narration through each song. Strong and impacting lyrics and deep and engaging sounds. It deserves to be called an album without filler more than a simple EP.

Oct 3, 2018SIM! SIM! SIM! Finalmente, The Weeknd volta às suas raízes e traz-nos uma boa (ainda que pequena e simples) surpresa. Este EP é mais inovador e estético. Mexe contigo e obriga-te a sentir o que o artista sente ao longo destas seis faixas.

Feb 24, 2019Beautiful , dark EP about a broken relationship . When you listening it at the same time as yours , you can feel out every meaning that makes this unforgettable.

Mar 30, 2018Very personal EP by The Weeknd.
I like it,reminds me the sound of Echoes Of Silence but with vibes of Starboy.
If you are a fan of The Weeknd previous work's you will like this.
If you are looking for I Feel It Coming or Can't Feel My Face vibes, this is not the right place. -
Mar 31, 2018While it doesn't break new ground for The Weeknd, My Dear Melancholy, is a great listen from beginning to end with very good production and good vocal performances from The Weeknd. It is definitely a must have if you like The Weeknd's early works Like House of Balloons, Thursday, and Echoes of Silence.

Mar 30, 2018THIS album is a perfect mix of his mainstream And his old r n b style music to create a master piece. The lyrics and the vocals along with the instrumentals work amazingly and I’m so happy I listened to this. Abel finally goes back to his roots while keeping his mainstream sound creates a new sound that I hope will be relevant on his next album. I love this project

Mar 31, 2018This album is full of sex and slow motion vibes, that makes everyone listen to it feeling high. I really like that!

Apr 2, 2018It's pretty normal stuff from The Weeknd. Good lyrics, it's all fine. But that's all that can be said. It's really typical, nothing new, kind of boring.
-
Apr 10, 2018Focused, melancholic, and consistent, “My Dear Melancholy” is a raw, downbeat success for The Weeknd.

Apr 2, 2018This is an album that gets in your feelings. You can almost feel what he is feeling and I am loving every second of it. A masterpiece! XO

Apr 6, 2018Abel just did that i am so proud of him i still want him fully back to dark Abel but MDM was close to trilogy vibes thanks Abel. Best EP of 2018

Jul 28, 2019This EP was too forgettable to explain why I thought it was so forgettable. I'll just settle at a 4, because Abel is a great vocalist.
-
Apr 5, 2018The best Selena Gomez's EP, nothing new in Selegend Gomez, Mancariana Grande see de lejisimos.
-
Apr 7, 2018The first time a heard this, well it have The weeknd¨s vibes with a really good verses, so Thank you so much Selena Gomez, this EP will win album of the year if you don´t release your album girl.
-
May 13, 2018There isn't any material that would point to major commercial success unlike previous releases, but The Weeknd's new EP 'My Dear Melancholy' is a short and sweet examination of heartbreak.
-
Dec 21, 2018The Weeknd goes back to the roots of this album, and brings a small and graceful thing at the same time. The quality and drowsiness of this EP are incredible and without words to describe.

Aug 24, 2023I still believe this EP has some of his best songs to date. To me for sure better than his last few projects.
-
Aug 25, 2022Weepy,boring and unnecessary cashgrab. This Ep is a low.that he's proven better than in his past projects. Disappointing.

Best Tracks:Call Out My Name,Hurt You
Worst Tracks:Try Me,Wasted Times, -
Feb 14, 2020One of the Weeknd's best offerings since trilogy. This EP takes you back to the early, darker days of Abel's music and the production across the album is top notch, especially the gessaffelstein features. Tracks like Call Out my name and I was never there are very emotionally heavy lyrically, and the whole EP is riddled with sadness and a true offering from a broken heart.
-
May 7, 2021A very melancholic (as the name implies), personal and touching EP. In it, The Weeknd spoke about his relationship with Selena Gomez, conveying the whole set of emotions and suffering that were with him at this time.

Oct 30, 2021the growth in his music is amazing, and in this album he shows it again, the transitions that he makes when advancing each song is incredible, very well thought out of all those who put effort into this amazing album
-
Jan 7, 2022definitely the saddest album by him. the opener"call out my name" is just perfect. my only issue with the ep is it's length for it's too short
-
Jan 7, 2022Best surprise EP ever! Played these six songs on repeat forever. Easily lasted me during the long wait in-between albums.
-
Jan 8, 2022One of the best Album, Love this Alum so much...
-
Jan 18, 2022This was probably not an ambitious album like others were. This was all about what the artist feels like and I believe that is the art of it. While some songs like "Call Out My Name" gave me near to goosebumps feeling, some just really couldn't.

Aug 20, 2022A truly great EP I wish it was an album so we could have more. A few songs personally were not as good as the others and I admit were kind of forgettable for me, but it does not take away the overall talent this EP had.
-
Dec 27, 2022While this isn't a terrible EP, many of the tracks on MDM are buried underneath the melancholic theme of the album. This leaves a lot of the tracks sounding uninspired and dull.
-
Jan 2, 2023Surprise EP, which was very well received, the mixed feelings within this work are very strong, it is necessary to put yourself in the place of the person playing to feel what he felt, the production is impressive, we can see it in 'I Was Never There'.
-
Mar 29, 2023this ep is a true art
i looove itttt
the productions and lyrics, all are fire absolute masterpiece
-
Dec 11, 2018Apart from the sly and sweet 2-step rhythm on "Wasted Times," the sound of the EP is bleary R&B with beats that drag and lurch, suited for Tesfaye's routine swings between self-pity and sexual vanity, chemically enhanced from one extreme to the other.
-
Apr 10, 2018Overall, the EP is decent, its production hearkening back to Abel’s pre-pop efforts. It brings in a range of genres and collaborators into The Weeknd’s canon but fails to truly cover new ground in the lyrics and vocal threads. My Dear Melancholy is a promising output but here’s hoping these stylistic ideas can be explored more originally on a full-length EP.
-
Apr 6, 2018On Melancholy, the Starboy wallows in heartbreak. It can be a bit tedious, at least until French producer/DJ Gesaffelstein shows up for “Never There” and “Hurt You,” which plays like a two-part song.
