    Whether you think Neil Hannon's comedy is a hit or miss (I certainly thought it was a hit), the bottom line is "Office Politics" is a darn fine musical album. Look past Hannon's quirky jokes and inconsistent singing and what you get are a wonderful blend of thoughtful lyrics, sweeping sounds, and unique blends of instrumentals to form an album like nothing else out there right now. A few misses like "Philip and Steve's Furniture Removal Company", which is more annoying than anything else, keeps this album from a perfect 10, but find a quiet place to listen and digest this album and what you will get in return is an hour of fun, entertainment, and above all else: An hour of pretty fantastic music.… Expand

    Thrilling new direction with some familiar tones from a national treasure. So much to feast on here.

    A another great addition to the 'Divine Comedy' line up. A mix of lyrical genius with instrumental talent. It is a very relevant album with the time we live in! Standout tracks: "Dark days are here again", "Office Politics", The Life and Soul of the Party" and "Infernal Machines".

    Both confounding and compelling, Office Politics, like much of Hannon's work, feels a bit like a magnificently rendered lark, but as per usual, it's hard not to admire the craftsmanship.

    There's a nod to Brexitannia in the shape of Dark Days Are Here Again but much of Office Politics feels like old jokes, filler songs in wobbly theatre productions and laboured punning.
