Feb 11, 2011An amazing album with only 1 or 2 simply "decent" songs. Beautiful poetic lyrics especially in the last song which is my favourite on the album. This singer has a great voice.

Sep 24, 2010A Change from there previous releases, seemed to be more music focused, with it seeming to be more commercialised. Still a good album though, but not as good as the previous releases

SimonC.Aug 23, 2009Every new Alexis on fire album is different from the previous ones. At first, I was skeptic about this one but after a while, we get used to It and it is even better from the previous ones!

this hodgepodge approach should certainly bring Alexisonfire some U.S. rock radio airplay, especially such standout tracks as the leadoff single, 'Young Cardinals,' as well as the album-opening 'Old Crows,' 'The Northern,' and the surprisingly tranquil and sweetly sung album closer, 'Burial.'

Alternative PressIt sounds like all those summers hanging at the cottage with Lemmy Kilmister and Lars Frederiksen finally made him realize there's more than one way to blow out your vocal cords. That makes Old Crows/Young Cardinals a welcome reinvention. [Aug 2009, p.106]

But from supposedly passionate Vonnegut fans we could do without ‘Sons Of Privilege’ and its student union pop at Uncle Sam (chief findings: U.S.A.=B.A.D.), while much of the rest slips into shouty default mode.
