Genuinely pretty good, every single song is catchy, and I really enjoyed it.

It's not a bad album, but it's just not good either. Linkin Park attempts a more pop approach and fails to deliver the message

It´s a good album with very deep and sad lyrics. But the pop attempet, although brave, goes wrong. It´s not bad, it just doesn't wronk.

Worst album by them. The only reason it has a lot of streams is because the youth thought they'd finally check the band out after Chester's death and only like the poppier side of Linkin Park which is this.. which is f-ing terrible.

One of the worst albums actually to come out in the last 10 years from a "band".

Whatever happen in Chester's mind when he record this album? Bands evolving their sounds? Maybe. The Result? Turd. Why don't they go to easier alternative rock instead of freakin POP.

The album continues Linkin Park's trend of trying different sounds and experimenting with writing techniques, which in itself is a very respectable thing an artist or band can do. Unfortunately, the problems arise in the sound of the album. Whilst a few songs in particular stand out (at least to me), such as 'Nobody Can Save Me' and the titular track, which is one of the best things the band has written in their whole history, the experimentation aspect makes the album sound like the majority of what was coming out during the mid 2010s. It's really ironic, considering just three years prior, Mike spoke out against the state of the current rock scene, resulting in the release of 'The Hunting Party' which showed real promise in the band's progression. I can't hate on the album too much, though. It's not bad to listen to, it's very easy going and works well as background noise, but had Chester and Mike not been on the vocals, it really would've had almost nothing that would make it stand out against the competition.

Hopefully their next release will revitalise the band and give them new light. Mike himself already showed more promise in his own album 'Post Traumatic', which was a lot more varied and overall had a better song line-up, so I have high hopes.

It is a brave move and should be praised for that. On the other hand it is also a failure even if the music is good. I decided to give 5 of 10 points and a salute for bravery to Linkin Park. Expand

It is a pop album, and it successfully delivers everything you expect from a pop album. A band should not stick to the genre they started. in the words of Mike Shinoda "You are supposed to change". This is what Linkin Park genuinely was at the time and wanted to release, and I'm here for it.

This album is the worst thing LP has ever done... which is actually very sad if you'll think about it. Chester's death is tragic and it's a damn shame that we won't hear his voice again. There are some people that think, that it's "us", people that hated this album and made Chester want to kill himself because of it, but I think that's bulls***. The "music" here doesn't exist, I'm not even sure if all the band members took part in the process of making it. I think it was just Mike and Chazzy and the rest of the band were just at home playing Halo or something. Someone should rework this album into a nu-metal album, because the vocal hooks and lyrics are great... the rest of this is not. Do not buy this, mourn with Hybrid Theory instead. Pickens condemns! Really, Linkin Park? If you had to go to pop music, does it have to me the most overdone cookie-cutter genre electropop? Is it Linkin Park's worst studio album to date? Probably. But is it a bad album? Not really. There's still some good stuff to be enjoyed here and I still think it's worth checking out. A lot of the criticism it's getting is kind of unjust.

Linkin Park has undeniably making their own brand of music since the beginning. Founded in 1996, the band started with an odd yet satisfying blend of metal and rap, spawning smash hits like Crawling, Papercut, In The End and more. Even when they moved on to a more appealing style of rap metal, they were incredibly unique, something die-hard fans and unrelentless haters alike can agree on.Linkin Park has undeniably making their own brand of music since the beginning. One More Light throws all of that away.
From the first synths of 'Nobody Can Save Me,' it becomes brutally clear this is going to be a textbook-definition pop album. Blinded by the unfortunate passing of Chester Bennington, fans have flocked en masse to defend this album.
For a pop album, it's a well-written gem. But unfortunately, other genres of music exist, and Linkin Park was born and raised in them. A few well-made jewels shine in the murky depths of this excruciatingly dull experience, and the title track is one of the best Linkin Park songs to date. However, the highs of this album are only highs in the context of it, and are still lows compared to previous Linkin Park works.

While this album isn't outright bad, a big reoccurring issue is the lyrical content of the songs not matching the generally upbeat instrumentals, and Chester's voice often being too soft to convey them properly. The title track however, One More Light, is an exception.

The issue isn't that it's a pop effort; indeed, they get points for a brave attempt so outside of their wheelhouse. The problem is that much of One More Light is devoid of that visceral charge that previously defined much of their catalog. It's a provocative challenge that ultimately fails to satisfy.
