From alt-rock to late 70's southern rock this album has a good bit to offer, my favorite was the alt-country offerings. I would drop it to a 6.8 though for some lazy songwriting on a few songs.

Almost all album is a perfect OST for Your coming back to a small birthtown after many years.

Appreciating a sense of the dramatic marked by emotive gestures is a pre-requisite for embracing this band. What it provides is a powerful and uplifting musical statement.

The songs themselves may not be complex but the simple and sincere emotions expressed on anthems such as the chiming indie epic Forever, the rip-roaring AC/DC-style rocker Running Round My Brain and the Rod-Stewart-flavoured piano ballad Every Dog Has Its Day carry a potent weight of feeling and offer euphoric release.

There’s more than an hour of music on Oochya! – a double LP’s worth, in old money – and as with most albums of such length you can easily argue over the more forgettable tracks that could have been left out. But for the most part the record showcases a band still looking forward to the next challenge. [Apr 2022, p.78]
