    This is in my opinion Interpol's best album. Their 'OK Computer', in a way.

    This one can be softer than their previous releases, but it still got some killer tracks. Can't name just few. Intensely emotional and pretty solid as it is, I still thinking this is the best Interpol album to date.

    Some people aren’t super crazy about this album, but I have a soft spot for it. Sure, it might not be perfect, but I still appreciate it. Here, we see Interpol expand their instrumentation, adding strings, pianos, and more into the mix. This was a much-needed progression for the band's sound, because if they released another album sounding like Turn On the Bright Lights or Antics, thingsSome people aren’t super crazy about this album, but I have a soft spot for it. Sure, it might not be perfect, but I still appreciate it. Here, we see Interpol expand their instrumentation, adding strings, pianos, and more into the mix. This was a much-needed progression for the band's sound, because if they released another album sounding like Turn On the Bright Lights or Antics, things might have grown stale.

    Along with El Pintor, this is one of their more accessible releases. It is less dark and brooding than its two predecessors. As a result, it has a much brighter tone overall. I don't have a problem with this: in fact I’m glad that Interpol tried something new! However, there are some flaws that I notice now in retrospect. After the halfway point, I feel that quality gets a little bit spotty. Some of the tracks start to feel a bit weaker. But at the same time, the second half still features plenty of tracks that I really enjoy (“Rest My Chemistry” and “The Lighthouse,” to name a couple). Luckily things don’t crash and burn, and the album always manages to regain its composure when it stumbles. I am especially glad that this album ends on a strong note. On the previous two releases, the final tracks didn’t really feel like closing tracks – it almost made it feel like those albums ended in the middle of things. But here they finally nail it with a dramatic finish that wraps everything up perfectly.

    I can see why some people might adore this record, but I can also see why other people might think that it’s just okay. Personally, I enjoy Our Love to Admire for its embellishment on Interpol’s typical sound. This is what really makes this record stand out as a solid entry in Interpol’s discography.    … Expand

    The fact remains that "Our Love To Admire" is a weaker effort than either of Interpols first 2 records. That said, there is still much to like on this album and I actually enjoy it more now than when it first came out. It still blasts most of the competition out of the water. Album number 3 sees Interpol change their sound ever so slightly.     Just plain excellent. Real standouts are Rest My Chemistry and Pioneer To The Falls. More of their distinct sound and driving beats. Can't get enough of Interpol!

    After a good 8 years, I can say that this is an relatively underrated outing by Interpol. It has definitely turned into my favorite Interpol album as a whole.

    Interpol's best album, easily. It's nearly flawless- "Pioneer to the Falls" and "Mammoth" stand out as two of the finest tracks the band has ever recorded. Hopefully in the long run it will get the respect it deserves.

    A lot more good than bad, although certainly not the album many anticipated after TOTBL and Antics. A different direction for Interpol. Maybe a bit more of a pop sound to many of the songs.

    A very catchy album that expands the band to a wide audience. Has a blend of upbeat and down tempo tracks on this album, that make for a introspective adventure.

    Although not quite as mind blowing as the preceding Antics, Our Love To Admire is an exceptional album. It nears perfection with only a solitary weak link on it's tracklist (the closing Lighthouse). I personally prefer this LP to the much lauded Turn On The Bright Lights and the uneven self titled album.

    Our Love To Admire is a great album in my opinion. Though it may be the weakest of the Interpol catalogue, it doesn't mean this album isn't worth a listen. Only when you compare this album to Turn On The Bright Lights does it seem like a drop in quality, and not by too much. I enjoy each song on this album except "Mammoth", which I wish hadn't made it onto the record.

Sure, TOTBL is as surreal as it is majestic, but I guess some listeners (critics and fans) are afraid of their favorite bands changing. Our Love To Admire is right up there with TOTBL, and is an improvement over Antics. Songs like "Rest My Chemistry" and "Pace is the Trick" are worth the price alone...It's funny how exaggerated Interpol's so called "fans" are when it comes to judgement. "Pioneer to the Falls" might even topple TOTBL's "Untitled" as their best opener. Paul's singing is more confident then ever as well, as seen in the brilliant "The Heinrich Maneuver".     Honestly don't care what "Interpol" fans say... As myself is a Interpol fan i declare this is definitely their second best only just behind Turn On The Bright Lights, not really. But this album is amazing, great opening track in Pioneer To The Falls then going into my personal all time favourite Interpol song No I In Threesome then finishing a lovely end of Lighthouse. The Bass lines however aren't as AMAZING!! or remeberable then their debut of Turn On The Bright Lights or i guess "Antics" but Carlos Dengler identity will still of course live in this album... Daniel Kessler of course doing a great job on his guitar through the whole album... and Sam amazing drumming. GREAT ALBUM my number 2 interpol album and number 16 on my top 100 albums.     Very moody and catchy. Paul as a songwriter and lyricist has improved. His imagery has more clarity, his songs are easier to understand and the band has really come together for having a real mood for each song that is unique instead of all from the same thread. In a way they're treading similar ground while trying a few new things out but it's a good listen.

    Oh dear. Aren't bands supposed to improve over time? it seems that Interpol have regressed some what and I doubt they will ever reach the highs of TOTBL. There are some good songs but the others are mediocre so say the least.

    Not quite on the level of classic as "TOTBL" and "Antics" but still one of the best all around albums of 07. "No I in Threesome", "Pace is the Trick", "Rest my Chemistry", & "The Lighthouse" are among some of the best songs they've ever written. So, for that alone this a 10.

    If you haven't heard interpol I suggest you start here. Might not be my favorite album of thier's but it is as good as any of them. I'm glad these guy's make music.

    This album is so nostalgically beautiful. althugh, i have to admit, the songs are all kind of similar at first, but after a few listens, each is distinguished. it think it would be a really good soudtrack for a dark, depressing action movie.

    This album is a true masterpiece. In my opinion it´s even better than TOTBL. It´s impossible to find a weak point on that record. Congratulation boys!

"Rest My Chemistry" (Paul Banks still has to be one of our best contemporary lyricists), the straight-forward vintage interpol-sounding "Who Do You Think" and haunting closer "Lighthouse" are my other personal Mostly generic and dissapointing follow-up to Antics and their absolute masterpiece Turn On The Bright Lights, with the occasional flash of brilliance that is "Pace Is The Trick". "Rest My Chemistry" (Paul Banks still has to be one of our best contemporary lyricists), the straight-forward vintage interpol-sounding "Who Do You Think" and haunting closer "Lighthouse" are my other personal favourites and save this disc from plain mediocricity. Songs however like the directionless 'The Scale" and the awful "All Fired Up" aren't even B-sides worthy and imo a blamage to a very good band. Overall a 5,5/10.… Expand

    Another Masterpiece by the boys in black. "OLTA" is without a doubt on par, with "TOTBL" and "Antics", which says alot about how good this album is. 2007 has been a tremendous year for music and but this is the best of the pact. This is my choice for "Album of the Year" and once again proves why Interpol is the best band in the world, right now.

    Pleasant overall, but the ending needs more development. The Lighthouse sounds like it is going to expand more, but then it just ends :(

    With giant gyrating reverberated guitars and a grandiose brass section, this is the sound of a rock band attempting the sweeping gallantry of Sibelius or Tchaikovsky and getting away with it. It represents a smugly victorious ending to what is a phenomenally strong and well-polished album.
