Partially not the kind of music you would expect from Rival Consoles: definitely an ambitious work that at a first listen probably will leave you satisfied but with some doubts; this work is full of interesting shades and I have the sensation that the more you listen carefully, the more it’s possible to understand and appreciate it. Skirls of noise are layered like mille-feuille, bass drops hit with the muscular impact of a piledriver, and a cloud hangs heavy over the entirety of proceedings. [Jan 2022, p.87]

While much of the album is taken up by experimental mood pieces like these, there's also a significant number of sprawling, progressive tracks.

By the time Making Sense Of It All’s wobbly notes dissolve into reverb it’s clear that Overflow, while not entirely justifying its runtime, is a serious work from an intriguing producer.
