I'd have to say that this album is one damn exciting example of the stamina that Melvins has been able to have over the past three decades. This album is weird, and what more can you ask for from the kings of sludgy, half-metal, half-punk. This is not their best work, but that is not to say it still isn't damn good.

The addition of Steven McDonald from Red Kross and Jeff Pinkus from The Butthole Surfers lends more low end weight to the band’s already bottom heavy sound, but otherwise Pinkus Abortion Technician is business as usual. [Jun 2018, p.65]

Pinkus Abortion Technician still rocks harder than anything this side of ... Melvins themselves. [Jun 2018, p.86]

In true late 70s record style, the band seems to be throwing everything in the blender and letting things lock together as they will, as opposed to forcing a mandate. What’s not surprising about this is that it works.
