There is simply no one out there doing anything close to what Yves Tumor is doing. I've been a fan for a few years now and they just keep getting better and better. In my opinion, this is by far their most cohesive LP to date, and probably the most palatable for the first-time listener, despite utilizing complex and intricate production techniques, instrumentation, and phrasing throughout. There is simply no one out there doing anything close to what Yves Tumor is doing. A euphoric masterpiece and a playground for the ears, drawing similarities to Pink Floyd, Prince, and David Bowie. Well done. Expand

The singles had me worried that they'd be the best songs in the album but it's thankfully not the case. Excellent album

I was very excited about this album, since "Heaven To A Tortured Mind" was my third favorite album of 2020. This is not on top of that, but I do consider this album to be an important addition to the discography of someone who is not just their authentic selves, but someone who is knowing themselves deeply and pushing their own limit of what is to be someone.

Since the career highbof Safety in the hands of love was followed by the sonic shift that was heaven for a tortured mind i anticipated that upward trajectory of sea changes would continue- they didn’t. And honestly to expect something definitively different each cycle is a bit extreme. And dumb. But with a few listensbive grown to love it for the transitional statement it is. This discordant collision of his debut and sophomore is a short experimental success. I do think its a but uneven still but never to a point where i can't appreciate how often it succededs . Expand

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. Such an awesome and euphoric experience. Undoubtedly best album of the year so far. Yves and their band deserve more recognition. Lovely Sewer, Meteora Blues, Parody, Purified by the Fire and Ebony Eye are highlights of this record.
Glad to see more neo-psychodelia and noise-pop nowadays. More than that, was glad to hear Purified by the Fire that gives familiar vibes as early TEAMS or Safe in the Hands of Love! A lot of samples that were used as they’re always used by Yves - GREAT.

¿Soy el único que puede notar un plagio muy parecido al de Bjork con este artista?

‘Praise…’ feels like a completed maze, a finite and full creation, and cements Tumor as an extraordinary explorer.

This feels like Tumor’s masterpiece, an opus that has been laying dormant deep in the artist’s creativity waiting to be freed at the perfect time. They pieced together a tracklist that, despite the frantic nature of these songs, stays consistently chaotic even in its most mellow moments.

The album nostalgically embraces all corners of rock music past with post-punk, heavy metal glossy shoegaze and more, while still pushing the boundaries a good distance forward. ... If The Asymptotical World was the sunset preceding the meteor, then Praise A Lord is the big hunk of rock itself. The resulting explosion—in all of its chaotic, god-defying beauty—leaves a fully formed rock superstar emerging from its ashes.
