    It doesn’t always work as well as an album, but folks will still look back and remember the time Cummings spent everything, went all in, and became Ramona.

    Ramona has a very on-Broadway energy. There are occasional Blue Hotel lapses, but I'm Getting Married To The War or A Precious Thing come across like a rock opera Aldous Harding, while title track - inspired by Bob Dylan's 1964 song To Ramona - is the third curtain-call Patti Smith. The force of her voice alone earths these songs. [May 2024, p.86]

    Not everything hits the target, partly due to strangely sluggish pacing, but impassioned weepies like “Work Today (And Tomorrow)” and the sarcastic, agreeably sloppy “Everybody’s Somebody” showcase an impressive vocal and emotional range. [Apr 2014, p.31]
