This album, how do I even start? It deserved the category of album of the year. Beyoncé aimed for such visions some people never aspired to envisage. Beyoncé aimed for such visions some people never aspired to envisage. She couldn't have mixed genres and rhythms in a more pleasing and comforting way, and I'm not even talking about how each song transitions beautifully into the following one. This album depicts queer and black liberation, picking inspiration from vogue ballrooms and decades like the 90s or 70s when disco music ruled. Once again, she got robbed for such a sublime album. This record was a renaissance for modern music. How many albums has she got to put out to win the category? The recording academy's actions depict how coded are its ideologies. Beyoncé, a black woman fighting for LGBTQI+ and black people's rights, seems unable to win this category for four consecutive nominations, including this year's ceremony. Expand

this album is perfect. I've listened to it every single day since its release and I cannot get tired of it. every single song is carefully placed in the album, and the transitions tie the whole album together as a single continuous song.

in my opinion, what makes this album the beauty it is, is the self love and pride message it carries, it is a homage to queer people of color who paved the way in the disco and ballroom scenes. I can understand that some people might need some time with it on its first listen because it is very, very unique, but mark my words: this album will grow on you and you will fall in love.

Beyoncé, thank you for this, you changed my life with this body of work.

Renaissance is an amazing cohesive album that blends lots of styles of songs into an album. The songs have such great transitions that you can literally listen to the whole album without noticing that the song is “changing”!

One hundred per cent one of the best Beyonce albums. Not only does it sound like she had a lot of fun recording and making this album, it also slaps. The lyricism is fantastic and flows really well. It has a great beat throughout in a beautiful blend of genre and style. It really demonstrates Beyonce's mastery of her music. boring! repetitive! raw! beyonce's new album features a dance record that makes an impact only on the single tracks :( i tried listening other times and just found it CLOYING (doesn't compare to taylor swift saying "me-e-e!") but it made me so tired

that's a dancing album alright ! honestly i love bass so that was entirely my thing. some songs are a bit long, and i especially don't vibe with Church Girl like, at all. i love the attention paid to each transition, it makes the album feel like a smooth run through, and also some vocal runs were just Crazy so there's that too. the lyrics honestly, are kind of whatever, not gonna lie. somethat's a dancing album alright ! honestly i love bass so that was entirely my thing. some songs are a bit long, and i especially don't vibe with Church Girl like, at all. i love the attention paid to each transition, it makes the album feel like a smooth run through, and also some vocal runs were just Crazy so there's that too. the lyrics honestly, are kind of whatever, not gonna lie. some lines were really fun & memorable, especially in Heated which is just pure fun, overall it makes sense with the music & theme of each song though but most of them i don't Remember at all, but the music & vocals are what shine through. my fav used to be Virgo's Groove but now i tend to listen to America Has a Problem the most so yeah, lots of favs in this album ! What an incredible way to honor your uncle and the community he's a part of. The transitions on this album are perfectly executed, she might get some criticism for the use of samples but that's actually very important for an album like this. She takes us to the dance-floor and invites us to celebrate life. 10 out of 10.

I decided to add a rating after sitting with the album for a couple of months because I wanted to see if it could give me the same feeling it gave me when it was out for the first month. Honestly I love this album and how it makes me feel confident and happy. I felt so much joy the first month and I still feel joy now.

the most well thought out album of 2022, the inspo is very clear and that’s no mistake from beyoncé as she is a very intentional artist. The transitions paired with the beaming production and soaring vocals, this is undoubtedly Beyoncé at her best and at her most free.

Renaissance derives its meaning through its diverse soundscape, which, due to Beyoncé’s astute curation, becomes a statement about letting the music speak for itself.
