Reputation is lesser than the sum of its parts, unfortunately. It's weird to give it a 4 since over half the songs on here are very well-done (props for making Ed Sheeran actually tolerable), but the album doesn't do what it's trying to do: show Taylor in a positive light. It flips between petty bitterness and wistful melancholy so fast that it feels ingenuine. If this album had beenReputation is lesser than the sum of its parts, unfortunately. It would have been great. But instead, we get Taylor Swift trying to show herself as a real person, and managing to completely and utterly fail at that aspect. Expand

a great return, although the album is more dedicated to other people than to herself and her tastes, her videos are iconic and the lyrics of her songs are art

Very boring, very monotone. I don't know why Taylor Swift didn't grow from her 1989 album. Honestly, it's a step backward.

This album shows Taylor's dark side, which is appealing to older age groups as well (21-30). I'm pleasantly surprised, that the whole album would be the mediocre and mainstream style of LWYMMD (my least favourite song). 7.5/10 but I'll give 8 on this.

    *sigh*

Pop Music 2017 is horror, almost all of the songs are about love or are about Kanye

    This is cancerous content

This is something worse than Witness and Witness is atrocious

The way Taylor makes a pretty drastic change works up to a point well. But songs like "Ready for It", "End Game" or "Look What You Made Me Do" make this album fall into a repetitive cliché and flat lyric. Despite everything, the album comes out with a rather interesting theme, a rebellious, diva who takes the pop world by the antlers and crowns herself as a chameleon artist. While it may not be as good as Fearless, or 1989, I'd still say it was a good album with a few bad songs, but overall a solid album nonetheless.

Best: End Game, Getaway Car, King Of My Heart, Call It What You Want

    Worse: Gorgeous, New Year's Day

Lo mejor: Dont blame me, I did something bad, Delicate, Get away car.

This album very emotional, impregnated with the evil and love in each song...... not to express it in words. Delicate - the best song of this album.

Taylor is a great artist and songwriter. The album has its flaws, but they are few and far away. The lyrics are great, and the change of production of each track makes the album good and soft to hear.

On reputation, Swift balances a darker, more vengeful tone with a sweet, romantic sentiment, which can sometimes cause the listener to be confused. The constant see-saw between affectionate love songs and vengeful songs (presumed to be about either her exes or her longstanding feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian) are jarring at times, and make the work seem disjointed. The constant see-saw between affectionate love songs and vengeful songs (presumed to be about either her exes or her longstanding feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian) are jarring at times, and make the work seem disjointed. However, the songs themselves are very good pop songs on their own. The standouts on the album see Swift at her most vulnerable. "Delicate" explores a scenario many people encounter, how to balance timing with a new love interest. Similarly, "Call It What You Want" is a sweet love song, in which Swift proclaims she is proud of the man she is seeing and details how he has helped her through a troubling time.

Swift misses in situations where she tries to be too aggressive in songs such as "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" and "I Did Something Bad." In "Bad," she proudly proclaims "for every lie I tell them, they tell me three, this is how the world works, now all he thinks about is me" and "if a man talks **** then I owe him nothing." The lyrics, coupled with the aggressive beat are a sharp departure for the preceding "End Game" and require the listener to adjust the mindset almost immediately. Swift proudly proclaims in "End Game" that "I got some big enemies", however I feel that the album dwells too much on this perceived slight by her enemies, and departs from what makes Taylor Swift's music transcendental.

Highs from the album: "Delicate"; "Dress"; "Call It What You Want"; "Getaway Car"
Lows from the album: "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things"; "...Ready For It?"

This album was amazing. The lyrics are not that good, but some are beautiful. The songs are amazing, she's trying another music genres, "I Did Something Bad" is something brand new, never heard before. "New Year's Day" and "Call It What You Want", the last two songs, are masterpieces. "Look What You Made Me Do" was not so critically-acclaimed, but I particularly liked it.

Part rumination on engaging with the pop icon and part deep end even after eating the meal, Reputation keeps the ball in the air, argues for moving forward, even if it’s herky jerky.

Swift’s unencumbered analysis of the tectonic shifts within her personal and public life are equal parts razor sharp and self-indulgent. But as a pop album, Reputation is never revolutionary, the adrenalin rush heady but ultimately short-lived.
