    Run Rose Run is one of Dolly's most predictable and most filler record to date. The album's themes are relatable, yet sort-of bland. The three collaborations were possibly the worst of Parton's career due to all singers sounding exactly the same! Not forgetting the legendary first three songs though, that's what makes the album listenable and exciting...for a moment.

    Run, Rose, Run is an impressive display of Parton’s songwriting and vocal mastery that nevertheless leaves one hoping she one day releases the classic late-era record she’s so clearly primed to make, should she choose.
