They suck! SS sounds like a bunch of no talent people met, cut some tracks (quickly) and have become the sound du jour. Blech!

This album's only redeeming track is "Mary". Otherwise, flat, uninteresting, lifeless. I really annoys me when tedious groups like Kings Of Leon, The Strokes and now Scissor Sisters get so much critical acclaim whilst other more innovative musicians get pushed aside. I like my music to have lasting interest, thank you.

Omigosh, this is just brilliant!! It is a grower. The first couple of times I played it, I wondered what all the fuss was about a few Elton John sounding songs and some disco songs, but repeated playing revealed what a clever and beautiful cd this is. Refreshingly different than the other garbage out there today. Something with a little "thought" behind it. I love the disco throwbacks. The Comfortably Numb remake is so cool. One of my favs for 2004

I love this album and don't know how people can slate it as badly as they have. I agree with the majority, and I love the way that Ana Matronic and Jake swap vocals in songs like Filthy/Gorgeous.

Good humoristic poprock. A little bit like wtaching Clockwork Orange with CGI effects and produced by Wu. Nothing is really new, but the mix of influences does appeal from the first listen. Once you settle beyond the obvious sarcasm, there is not much left. Light and fun. Are they going to last longer than ziguezigueSputnik?

I think this album is great from start to finish, it's something i've never heard before. Very different and the lyrics and poetic yet understandable (except i don't understand how "Take Your Mama" is a song about coming out totally). I do think it's one of the top cd's to come out in 2004.

I never understood the whole posters on the wall obession of fanatical fans to one particular group. Now I know! The sissor sisters in my opinion is the greatest group of the 20th centery. Scissor Sisters have proven that they are more than a singles band, songs like "Tits on the Radio" and "Music is the Victim", as well as "Filthy/Gorgeous" are all fantastic and are poppy disco music with integrity, something very rare nowadays.

I love this CD. I bought it for "Laura", little suspecting the other gems I would find. It combines catchy choruses and effortlessly funky instrumentals, making it an album where all the song have stuck in my head at some time or another. From the very very fun song "Music Is The Victim" to the melancholy ballady type thing "Return to Oz" I just think it's brilliant.

This album by the Scissor Sisters has to be one of the best albums to come out in a long time, even though it took several listenings. Its kind of like the old "Airplane" movies in that you have to watch them over and over to see something new each time. I really enjoyed the "disco" sounds brought back by this band.

It's unbelievably original. Highly likable and an awful lot of fun. Some tracks are a little strange for the sake of being strange **** on the Radio') and others could have pushed the boundaries that bit further ('Better Luck'), but overall it's an excellent debut. It's pop, it's rock, it's dance, it's country and it's alternative. It's a proper eclectic pop record.
