The beginning of the work hinted at a distinctive electronic timbre that could have been a foundation, but any musical nuance that was present disappeared rather quickly and sadly slumped to revolve around an untalented rapper who has no energy, no delivery, no breaks in rudimentary rhythm, and hopefully no future. My Score: 67/180 (Bad) = 3.7/10

this makes me feel like i am listening to more exitable jazz. there are deep feelings here. it mushes around like thoughts in my head and abruptly ends

I tell you straight it's very disappointing album for me. i fall in love with unknown death and unknown memory but stranger is not even close previous masterpieces. it's still just at best good CD at my opinion.

Yeah nothing left to add... Lazy tone, dull lyrics, uninspired flow. Just an inequal project paved with incomprehensible beat switches and half-baked tracks. The production sometimes tries something new, bringing some fresh air, but Yung Lean's tone ends up finishing things off, making each track sound exactly like its predecessor. Expand

Stranger has its cloud-rap niche and should please listeners eager to enter this world, but casual rap fans should arm themselves with enough patience and caffeine before taking the plunge.

While his alienated, laissez-faire flow disguises sly pop sensibilities on the smoked-out, funereal-paced Red Bottom Sky and Silver Arrows, it's bare-bones lament Agony that sums up his charm. [Jan 2018, p.94]

Perhaps not something you'd put on to get the party started, Yung Lean has though nailed the comedown. [Jan 2018, p.114]
