I haven't been to the ocean since 2004. That's sad enough, but this album has taken me there everytime I listen to it. Stellar piece of electronic music.

Already a contender for album of the year.

Score based on a live performance of this album in Shanghai 2010. These guys played like they are technical wizards solving a complex cosmic mathematical equation .. standing inside a clock ... in a science laboratory ... in the mind of a mad inventor ... who's tripping on acid. It was spellbinding.

An appropriate title for a very watery album. It is certainty not very accessible and some songs do tend to go on a Four Tet like mood (repetition). Still worth a listen.

An album that stretches over genres, it deserves your attention. Swim presents you with a more dance and electric vibe, yet does not stray to far from being relaxing and psychedelic. "Odessa" is a distinct dance number for people who do not like dance music. Songs like "Sun" are extremely trancy, and the instrumental "Lalibela" has to be one of the most interesting songs on the album

Caribou manages to creates a claustrophobic collection of raw electronic hits that easily captivate the listener throughout the duration of the album's nine memorable tracks. Its the complexity of it all that will keep you listening for weeks to come.

The best electropop of 2010, but not the best from Caribou, Swim is a rewind of the things that put this band in the top of the electro music. With some fails, like choosing "Sun" as a single, Caribou made the best track of 2010 with "Odessa", some sort of trip inside a girl feelings.

Very listenable. Some good tunes but overall I find this gets a bit repetitive after a while. There will be some great sounds with bags of potential but often the track will just stand still for 4 or 5 minutes. You can hear alot of ideas Radiohead have been using on The King of Limbs present on this.

While some songs may become tedious, like the lengthy "Hannibal," the album as a whole is a great addition to the Caribou discography.

Throughout Swim, Snaith employs similar tactics, getting something interesting started, seducing the listener, only to challenge them to stay on board as the song develops. [Spring 2010, p.69]

Dan Snaith goes liquid disco on his fifth album. [May 2010, p. 96]
