    One of two albums to ever have 5 of it's tracks hit #1 on the Hot 100, and there's a reason why. Teenage Dream expanded on Perry's popularity with classic tracks such as Firework, Teenage Dream, E.T., Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) and California Gurls. Such a timeless album.

    Eu me senti tão abraçado! Cheio de músicas dançantes e letras positivas que falavam de sentimentos que eu não tinha experimentado e como era delicioso estar vivo! Foi uma era totalmente visual, e por estar precisando de mais raios de sol na minha vida, logo fez com eu mergulhasse naquele mundo algodão-doce e virasse um “fanboy” realmente aficionado na cantora que flertava com aliens e queEu me senti tão abraçado! Cheio de músicas dançantes e letras positivas que falavam de sentimentos que eu não tinha experimentado e como era delicioso estar vivo! Foi uma era totalmente visual, e por estar precisando de mais raios de sol na minha vida, logo fez com eu mergulhasse naquele mundo algodão-doce e virasse um “fanboy” realmente aficionado na cantora que flertava com aliens e que dava festas loucas numa abençoada sexta-feira a noite; cheia de alter egos e looks marcantes, foi uma era memorável que definiu minha geração! Consumia tudo sobre as músicas, os bastidores e ensaios de foto. Ficava o dia todo tentando entrar no site da finada MTV Brasil com minha internet discada pra fazer com que os singles pegassem número um no TOP 10 MTV e aquilo tudo era um escape pra realidade difícil que eu estava vivendo.
    Foram as palavras e toque de felicidade que a Katy colocou na minha vida que fizeram eu realmente entender que estava tudo bem ser quem eu era, que mesmo se eu me sentisse como uma sacolinha de plástico vazia voando por aí eu era uma verdadeira explosão de fogos de artifício esperando para acontecer e eu finalmente entendi que sim, eu merecia viver e merecia ser feliz! Lembro de uma entrevista honesta da cantora falando sobre como tinha sido sua infância cristã e como ela também era proibida, assim como eu, de consumir coisas que não fossem relacionadas a igreja, aquilo me deu esperanças e me ajudou a criar energias e construir o lugar seguro que estou hoje: mesmo que seja feito de madeira e que algumas vezes algum lobo mal venha assoprar e derrubar toda fundação, a cantora me ensinou a como reconstruir tudo de novo, ela me ensinou como me reerguer, pois, também precisou fazer isso diversas vezes.    … Expand

    TEENAGE DREAM un álbum genial muy comercial lleno de buenas canciones en distintas facetas todas increíbles debió haber ganado mas de 1 grammy al igual que PRISM Y WITNESS se lo merecían sol albumes increíbles mucho mas coherentes que otras canciones de otros artistas.

    Uno de sus mejores álbumes, muestra ese concepto de teenage que me encanta, el mejor. Muestra un poco de rock, pop y sus mejores maneras de Pop. Katy se reinventó, a parte que este álbum tienen 5 #1 y su versión deluxe lleva otro más.

    The rock references are not unusual in her previous albums or other pop albums. But it makes us dream of his lyrics and melodies, and also brings comedy and sex appeal with **** (which should be single). The album featured six singles in the Billboard top 200, was epic, but for the professional critics found wanting.

    This is a great pop record. It's so much fun, exactly how pop music is supposed to be. At first I didn't like the songs "Peacock" and "Circle the Drain", but eventually I grew to like those too. People need to stop over thinking this and just enjoy it. Sure, it's silly at times, but that's not a crime. Not all music should be serious and intellectual.

    A commercial album through and through, but that's alright albums are allowed to be commercial in my opinion. Highlights are 'California Gurls', 'Firework', 'Teenage Dream' and 'Part of Me'. Personally, I think this is the best teen-pop album in years, which is proved by its impressive six US number 1 singles. Tonnes of catchy hooks, with a sprinkle of emotion in tracks such as 'Not likeA commercial album through and through, but that's alright albums are allowed to be commercial in my opinion. Highlights are 'California Gurls', 'Firework', 'Teenage Dream' and 'Part of Me'. Personally, I think this is the best teen-pop album in years, which is proved by its impressive six US number 1 singles. Tonnes of catchy hooks, with a sprinkle of emotion in tracks such as 'Not like the Movies' and 'The One that got Away', however some songs seem soulless and devoid of Perry's normal exuberant personality, such as 'Last Friday Night'. The lyrics are so intense, specially the "Imma get your heart racing, in my skin tight jeans...", she worked with the best producers she could work to make this record sensational and I'm proud it marked my teenage days.     Time proved this is going down as a classic pop album. There's a whole pop perfection vibe to this record. You feel young listening to it. Katy's proved that mainstream pop music can be extraordinarily satisfying and the lyrics don't need to be shallow all the time.

    So many hits in this album you know at least three songs by heart that bring you back to sunny, young and joy-full summers from years ago. The only problem I find with it is that apart from the singles, the rest of the songs aren't memorable enough and they don't work well to make a wholesome body of work.

    Since I do not know the best way to start this review, maybe I should just begin by saying I am very impressed with Katy Perry’s Sophomore album, Teenage Dream. Like its predecessor (though more on the “pop side”), Teenage Dream does a wonderful job of being a wonderful blend of rock and pop, which makes it a blast to listen to the whole way through. From catchy lyrics to ballads about lost love to the occasional slap bass, this album packs in a lot of punch.

    I wish I could include all my song-by-song commentary, but that would push the review past the character limit.

    Overall, I was very happy with Teenage Dream. I know I’m listening to this as if someone is watching a movie released 15 years ago, but I am very excited to listen to Perry’s subsequent release. This pop-rock direction she is heading in is very enjoyable and I just find myself wanting more. Her fun lyrics combined with her outstanding music make Teenage Dream a winner for me, and should also be a hit for the greater pop community (some rock fans may really get down with this as well, like I did). There's pure teenage-pop, very infectious, and how not to mention the great success that most of the singles had on Billboard... "Teenage Dream", "Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.) and "Firework" will be Perry classics, without a doubt.

They give off a different feel that showcases her flexibility as a writer and singer. Overall, the album made a good impact on the general audience, thanks to the infectious sing-along tunes that came off her Singles, especially California Gurls and Firework that lastingly spanned over two whole years before she released an EP to it The Complete Confection. This album really made her shine in the midst of sheer competition from the mainstream pop industry, sealing her name as an act to continually look out for. It's also an album that I spin frequently, and will continue to do so for a very long time from now.

    Was an EP to the Teenage Dream album necessary? No.
    Was it worth the attempt? Yes.
    Definitely didn't regret picking up this album even though it wasn't much of an extension to the original album. This album elongates the success of her previous album by adding 3 new songs in, as well as remixes/acoustic versions of the prior Singles. The release of Part Of Me and Wide Awake puts a final stamp on the success of this album as a whole, and highlights her ability as a pop artiste. The additional songs do fit in well with the album, but it also questions the future success of Katy Perry's career and whether she is able to produce a record that is more mature and a better representation of her as a person. Even though the album sounds similar (standard tune and lyrical structure) throughout, it maintains the consistency of the record and is still an album worth listening to as a whole.

    Teenage Dream is a good pop album... and that's what it is, it doesn't try to seem deep or meaningful, an album that knows what its made for. Pop songs that are perfect for radio play, parties, or just dancing in your room to feel better about your day...
    some of the tracks are kind of forgettable but overall it's an empowering fun piece of work..

    After some severe front-loading, the album is filled out by songs that are too dark or lifeless to work alongside the Candyland motif of the cover and sunbeamy splash of California Gurls.

    There's none of the ABBA or Cardigans influence she claimed, nor any of the fun she seems to have in real life. For now she just sounds like another of pop's Stepford Wives.
