    I did try to like this album but unfortunately it lacks something that makes it standout if i'm being honest. Each track borrows chords from sounds we have heard before in the last 20 years and strangely each track sounds like rushed takes of her previous music in her catalogue. In some tracks, the forced Mariah Carey-esque sound takes a toll on the song and is honestly laughable to beI did try to like this album but unfortunately it lacks something that makes it standout if i'm being honest. Each track borrows chords from sounds we have heard before in the last 20 years and strangely each track sounds like rushed takes of her previous music in her catalogue.     The album is boring, as all song sound nearly identical. I can give her credit as the self love themes are quite nice, but they degenerate into pure selfishness as we arrive at break up with your girlfriend. Lyrically, the songs are childish, and the album shows no growth between sweetener and thank u, next. In my opinion, it is really overrated, much like Ariana herself.

The music meh.. the only song that I really liked was needy, because it's the only song that feels personal. But hearing how she was forced to put that on the album by her manager makes me sick.

    I feel like im overreacting for sure but this album feels rushed. And for Ariana, who is an amazing artist, is not good enough. I think, for my taste, the current genre is not helping, trap is ruining the music. It helps Ariana image to up lift the album.

    I honestly expected more. I guess vocals were sometimes pretty good, But this album is lyrically trash. In 7 Ring Grande sing "I like to write what I sing" I really hope she wroted it, not one of her 10000 writers on this album.

A cada faixa passada percebemos a falta de criatividade em cada música tornando a sensação de estarmos escutando a mesma música a 12 horas pois as faixas são mais entediantes ao passar do tempo. O álbum apresenta sucessos nada merecidos como é o casoO álbum não conseguiu a mesma essência que seu antecessor [SWEETENER]. Thank U next apresenta faixas genéricas que não nos atribuem em nada. The general sound of the album with the Hip-Hop/Trap beats just doesn't fit Ariana Grande at all. Her style is more Pop and R&B, that's where she shines, but this just really falls flat. We get an element of that in "In My Head" when she sings the title of the track, which is the high point, but then follows that with the "Skrrt, skrrt" which completely ruins it, like seriously?
    The album's singles are some of the worst Ariana has ever put out in her career. "7 Rings" is just awful, Ariana basically flexes like a rapper over trap sounds and it makes her look and sound like a total poser. "Break Up with Your Girlfriend, I'm Bored" is incredibly irritating and vapid. As mentioned before, the trap sound just doesn't work, and just like "7 Rings", it is the complete antithesis of what Ariana stands for. "Thank U, Next" was okay at best, I appreciate the lyrics -minus the totally unnecessary F bombs in the chrous- but the production is still rather dull and boring and I wouldn't put it on my iTunes or Spotify.
    The songs are forgettable, the singles are a joke, and whatever messages she does try to convey in the album tracks are completely lost by such a lackluster and undesirable production, with the exception of "Bloodline" and "Ghostin".
    Overall, this was a really disappointing delivery from Ariana Grande. Just go listen to Sweetener instead.    … Expand

    thank u, next builds on Sweetener by switching modes of scale. It’s less about looking at the world than being by yourself, more focused on the textures of memory than our actions stemming from it. ... thank u, next is also Ariana’s most stunning vocal album.

    [7 Rings] is a hit, but isn’t actually all that great, using Rodgers and Hammerstein’s My Favourite Things as its sing-song musical base. The rest of the album remains of interest for its evolutions in sound, delivery and attitude.
