  1. It's fairly inoffensive rock, but the music and melodies are remarkably accomplished, especially for an early outing.
  2. The consistent, unwavering quality songs make up for most of Jaill's derivativeness. It's pretty hard to write meaningful music out of such rooted conventions of guitar, drums, and bass, but That's How We Burn is engaging throughout, which is quite an achievement for a meat and potatoes rock band.
  3. Jaill's indie-major debut, That's How We Burn, further refines the strengths of its predecessor--tight, no-nonsense songwriting and straight-ahead arrangements with tinges of jangle and psych.
