Amazing. Simply amazing. This album is an example of rock at its best. Each track is diverse, from a flowing "I Don't Love You" to a F.U., fun "Teenagers" to an almost 'old Italian' sounding "Mama." How can you not become addicted to atleast one of these songs?

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. I am completely biased writing this, I will agree with that, because this band is my favorite band of all time. What they mean to me, what they have always meant to me, is something so strong and so real that I can't help but love everything they do. Okay, now, time to actually get into the review.

This album, as a concept, is stellar. The final closing to the story of My Chemical Romance with the patient was so cleverly thought out. Playing off of Revenge which- side note, why the HELL is that not on here? Like for real, it's their best album, why isn't it up? Anyways yeah, this album played off the bitterness of Revenge with a very melancholy and pessimistic downtrodden mood, and damn, I loved it. 'Welcome To The Black Parade' is the most iconic song of the 2000s and of emo culture, you can't fight me on that, because if you disagree, you are not worth my time. 'Mama' is perhaps one of the most explosive and best songs every written any by MCR. Holy... the last damn chorus. The lyrics of 'The Sharpest Lives' actually caused me to take a songwriting class for four years straight AND read Romeo and Juliet AND audition for Mercutio AND cry when I didn't get the role. Sleep, Dead!, Famous Last Words, The End., This Is How I Disappear, I Don't Love You, House of Wolves, Cancer Teenagers, Disenchanted and Blood all slap. And what songs are mediocre or suck- yeah, that's right. None.

I wish I could be half as good and iconic as this album was. Hell, if this album went up to my girl and took her I wouldn't do **** Because that's his girl now. End of story, i'm not going to justify myself anymore. My ways are superior. This album is superior. Shut up.

I have to say that I am a little surprised at the quality of this album. I wasn't a fan of their last record, but they poished themselves silly on this one. It's really quite fun, and at times, a little beautiful. And really, this is rarely the sort of thing I like. I'm shocked.

I'm over 40. I picked this up to share it with my tween daughter because of the hype around its debut. At first, I thought it was more like Offspring's Smash than anything else: a flash-in-the-pan band with too much bluster and not enough mustard. But this lives. "Mama," "Cancer," "Teenagers" and a handful of other tracks get better with every listen. And all great rock albums I'm over 40. I'm no fan of emo, but this new album doesn't sound very emo at all, considering what band it came from. It's catchy, dramatic, like some kind of Broadway punk musical with plenty of nods to Queen and Pink Floyd. Color me pleasantly surprised; this is definitely one of the year's best.

One of the great albums of its time, but this post is more of a rebuttal. To all you nay-sayers: Grow up and develop some empathy! A band shouldn't just appease their core audience, but try and widen their reach. You say "...they've sold out" and "far too pop" etc. But how is being popular a bad thing? I've never met a band who have said "I only want a small following". A One of the great albums of its time, but this post is more of a rebuttal. A band evolves, and if it doesn't: it dies. And that's a fact. MCR have decided that they want to bring a message (and fun to the masses). I applaud them seeing as it's about time we had a rock album that wasn't aimed at a vocal (and very annoying with poor spelling) minority. Stop being so conservative and try something new, and if you don't like it, at least bring a proper argument please. Thanks for reading :) Expand

I wasn't a fan of My Chemical Romance before this. My girlfriend fell in love with them and I sort of resented their theatrics. But, this album has made a fan of me. It's impressively organized and by the time Liza Minelli rolls around, she doesn't seem to be out-of-place at all. Great stuff!

I think this album successfully mixes Queen, Screamo and 80s power ballads. I'm usually one of those snob critics taht doesnt like anything I didn't discover but I have to give this album credit. Not emo at all. With things like, "I am not afraid to keep on living" it is a message of hope. Sure they are... not so good live, but the message and the album is solid. Only reason why it's not a 10 is since I could live without ever hearing mama again. ugh. if they only put out that killer b-side "Kill all your friends" (pun intended).
