The sound is in and bands like The Bravery are scoring big with loads of their cds being sold. A good effort. But nothing we haven't heard before.

Heard them on XM 2 months ago. Loved Honest mistake from start. THey are a new band that needs to shape thier identity and show thier strengths as a musicians and they'll be around for a while.

I don't understand what s so horrifically bad about it? Awesome riffs, sneering vocals, and a dance-ability rating off the scale, i think its rather good actually...

People need to quit trying to compare this to the Killers. While the hint of 80's alternative is the backdrop, and the production is reasonably polished, the two bands sound very different. The Bravery take a noticably less Pop approach to their effort, and I feel should be recognized for that. I cannot help but think many of the reviews are by people that have not really listened to the whole album. There are only a couple of tracks that feel like filler, and the rest are beautifully arranged and styled songs the elicit emotion. If you like the Cure's more upbeat type of songs, this is really the album for you to check out. Expand

i know ive heard this somewhere before but i like what i hear. don't be afraid to like this group because you don't feel it's origionallity. Everyone has to be inspired by someone or something....nothing is truely origional...So take it for what it is

Good Album... Good Band. They themselves have not sad that they are trying to invent something new, so why all these people who 'dis' the album say that? The Killers are completely irrelevent... At All.

I really respect bravery for putting up with everyone's crap that they've been given. People say they are bad but if you look around they are plenty worse! People have been blinded with this non-existent feud between the killers. From what i've seen the killers think they are best and they are the only ones actually stirring. Wow. When I heard their first release "An Honest Mistake" I immediately loved it and I set out to hear the rest of their tunes. At first, I thought that their style was a little too out there for me, but then I realized that the songs were stuck in my head and I fell in love with the album totaly. It has not left my CD player for weeks, and it's still on my MP3 player as well. I Wow. It has not left my CD player for weeks, and it's still on my MP3 player as well. I don't understand why there's such a big deal over their sound. Just because The Killers sound similar to them. Let's just remember that the Strokes and the White Stripes were the ones who paved the way, The Killers just went a little more mainstream, and their songs seem like nothing next to The Bravery. I LOVE The Killers, but I love The Bravery's gritty sound. Its a little different. Their album is AMAZING. All the songs are great. Especially Unconditional, A Public Service Announcement, The Ring Song, and Tyrant. Listen to the CD if you can. You'll be happy. LOPe Expand

I don't see what's with all this Killers-wannabe shit. The Bravery have a different sound plus their album doesn't get too slow as does The Killers' one. I think this album is great and I'm anxiously waiting for the next release. This could me my next favourite band. Hope they won't spoil it all!!

Ok, this is one of those typical major releases that has potential great singles, but forgettable album tracks. Unconditional, No Brakes, Tyrant are unbelievably catchy and yes The Bravery rips off 80s post punk new wave better than the The Killers, but songs like Public Service Announcement remind you that this is a major studio release indented to get the mall kids into this stuff.

It's definitely not original, but I've never cared much for that. I like jaunty pop songs, and theres quite a few great ones on this album. Plus having seen them live they can really perform. Plenty of arrogant attitude, as shown by the subject matter of the lyrics!

the bravery are great...most music is undeniably trendy, and if the bravery can be categorized as trendy pop, well, hallelujah! there may be hope for top 40 yet.

This album is one of my favorites! The Bravery's style and sound mesh perfectly in catchy and upbeat songs such as "Public Service Announcement" and "Fearless". While they can take on a somewhat darker (but not too dark mind you) persona with songs such as "An Honest Mistake" and "Tyrant". If you love to laugh, brood, and dance, pick up this CD N-O-W-!

To all you people who rate this band from 0 to maybe a 4 or 5....they arent inconsistent crap. It wont put you to sleep or aything of that matter. So what if you dont like it, appriciate it for what it is and who the people are. They have a talent for writing music and playing it. Its not easy to be critisized for not being "one" of thr crowd. They definitely know their way around the early Duran catalog, not forgetting the requisite stops at New Order and the Psychedelic Furs. [Apr 2005, p.101]

It's bold, brash, trashy fun that will tempt Killers fans to fall in lust all over again. [19 Mar 2005, p.57]
  3. The Bravery do a jockier version of the New Wave competition, pumping the drums in straight-ahead tunes such as "An Honest Mistake" and "The Ring Song."
