Very interesting album, full of memories, it has something “special”, her voice goes perfect with the songs, and she knew how to create a personal, not boring album, very different to other female r&b/pop/rock/soul albums.

I really don't understand why people and critics didn't enjoyed this LP. In Fergie's debut album, we just hear anthem's like "Big Girls Don't Cry", "London Bridge" and "Fergalicious", and that's the most important reason why this album is so relevant: THIS IS ICONIC.

The album has a lot of different sounds, like R&B, hip-hop, rock, soul, electro-pop and gives Fergie a new image. It expresses what she wants, and makes a funny and light album to listen. In my opinion, one of the best albums of the last decade.

This review contains spoilers, click expand to view. This is such a good album to my mind. There are fast-flow and energy hip-hop, lyrical songs just for soul and some notes of my favorite R&B. It’s many-side work for everyone with both strong and velvet Fergie’s voice. I sure she spent so much time, trying to give suitable intonation to make you feel amazing emotions, like this little “laugh” in Finally or short vocalizing through the album make it. Also I really felt in love with violins, bit and guitar, so when I hear any songs of album, I wanna sing despite the fact, that my voice is gibberish. Expand

This album is pop, is rock, is reggae, is RnB, is TALENT. Fergie managed to show everybody that she isn't just the "female one" of The Black Eye Pease. She's an artist. A wonderful album. Beautiful lyrics and really really good music. A little masterpiece.

Very much on par with Gwen Stefani's equally confused 'Love. Angel. Music. Baby'. A mash of too many ideas and sounds. Jumping and hoping with little grace or warning.

Bem mediano, faixas típicas ao da época, o que não tira seu valor, desnecessárias faixas Finally e Velvet. as melhores Big Girls Don't Cry, Clumsy e London Bridge.

This album show Fergie as we are used to know, but it goes further, showing a unexpected one. As a pop album i can say that the lyrics are on level, catchy, not tooo much immature, and sometimes funny in a good way. Its not very cohesive that much, but its adventorous, as the result is an very decent album.

i gotta be honest: i've never loved Fergie beacuse i've always thought that she doesn't have her own place in the industry when it comes to be a solo artist, she is a mixture between Gwen Stefani and Pink sometimes...
but we have to admit that this album has a crazy beat generally speaking. of course not all the songs are good, but we have to think that Fergie will ever be just a singer

EN (US): I can't see why so much hatred in all this criticism to such a wonderful album to listen to while so many other bad part released at the same time are acclaimed and torn to critical acclaim. A perfect harmony between each song making the album nothing cloying, while tracks such as the singles and 'Mary Jane Shoes', 'Here I Come' and 'Losing My Ground' take you to want more. A super album well produced and great in the choice of singles, Fergie will certainly bring us a successor by hearing the addictive track 'LA Love' released in 2014 reminds me of the single 'Glamorous'. Certainly and undoubtedly, no matter your average, a great project.

uma porcaria, fergie é uma botocada horrorosa que tenta fazer esse pop falado que nem rap pode ser chamado e um som repetitivo, só não é pior que L.A. LOVE

Also she invested on the old pop which made her so famous as the worst CD track Fergalicious and the power-pop Clumsy or the nasty London Bridge, the last one came a #1 single without any video or promotion! Underrated by critic, but still elected by sales one of the 10 best pop albums of last decade.

Why all the hate? The Dutchess is an amazing album and Fergie is a better solo singer than in a group singing. A large range of beats and vocals, and exceptional guests like Ludacris.

    I Love Fergie!
Sadly I Felt Like The Album Was Rushed And Not Alot Of Effort Was Put Into It..
Fergie Is Better Than This.. Still A Good Album.. I Would Be To Nice Giving The Album A 8..

Fergie's Debut is fierce. When "London Bridge" came out I was so excited to hear Fergie on her own. The album has some fabulous songs but some songs lack the Fergie we Are used to. Key Tracks: "London BRidge" Glamorous" "All That I Got"

This album definitely has its fair share of great songs; to name but a few, Mary Jane Shoes, Clumsy and Glamorous, along with the Rock-Chick sound of Wake Up. Her huge singing talent and amazingly versatile look show her to be a true Madonna; just in the booklet we are shown around 6 (from memory) different styles of Fergie. She pulls this album off with its many different genres, without seeming too much like a "Wannabe". Well worth a listen; especially if you're a Black Eyed Peas fan.
7/10. Why? Lets just say, Hip-Hop isn't my most favoured genre. And where this album has a huge range of genres, the more repetitive and modern mainstream songs seem to fall short of Fergie's true talent. PLEASE Fergie, take up rock full time?

The problem is the Duchess herself. Fergie exudes earthy charm, but can't keep up with the breakneck music. She forces emotion on the slower show-stoppers, and she's all cartoon kitten on the come-ons. [17 Sep 2006]
