    What can I say? It's a whole lot of Pink Floyd... a little too much actually. Nah, but to be honest as a box set this is great, if a little bloated. Just get high and listen to some Pink Floyd, man.

As soon as the internet gained momentum and fan forums abounded, the demand for rare Pink Floyd material – so long the preserve of fanzines and clandestine encounters at record fairs – went over the counter. The sharing of scarce tracks became the thing, often with the hope that one day they would see more light officially. Well, how about this?
    For those who want the whole story and are happy to forgo some of the trimmings this Christmas, The Early Years 1965-1972 really is the Pink present that you won’t forget. At 27 discs (divided into seven volumes – and five replica 7”s no less), there is almost far too much here, but that, you feel, is its very raison d’etre. From the earliest Syd Barrett sessions in 1965, to their work for Roland Petit in 1972, The Early Years 1965- 1972 demonstrates that absolutely nothing went to waste and how match-fit they were for their global success with The Dark Side Of The Moon in 1973.    … Expand

    Absolute stud. Pink Floyd may have become legends mostly with their albums after 1975, but that doesn't mean that their early stuff isn't legend material. They could have been legends on a different track easily with their strong psychedelic material.
