TimNJul 30, 2004This album is stunning. It?s short, spikey and to the point. Old enough to know better? Not 'arf.

Kev118Oct 4, 2004Quite simply the greatest thing to come out of sunderland of all time, apart from me, obviously.

EchoDAug 1, 2004Well executed. A lot of fun, too.

jeniFeb 6, 2005i went to one of their concerts not knowing who they were and came out stunned that music could get that good, they are truly amazing

Kirby'sAvalanche.Jun 6, 2006An original ingredient added to a tried-and-true formula. Catchy brain-glue harmonys (Beach Boys) over angular skin-piercing rhythms (Gang of Four).

kellylerockSep 22, 2004simply the best british debut since Elastica. best seen live, the album is true to the band's frenetic, tight execution of these great new wave songs. Best album of the year by miles.

SteveDOct 12, 2005XTC for the 21st Century. Lots of angles, lots of bite and Hounds Of Love is a masterpiece.

CazAFeb 12, 2005The Futureheads make music that makes you believe British music is as great as it used to be!

PaulJApr 3, 2005This album is beyond anything i have listened to in the last 2 years and what sets it even further apart from other albums, is i am only truly truly amazed by 1 track! "Hounds Of Love" is just addictive. *Allows song to repeat for 27th time today* Brilliant band, brilliant songs, brilliant experience.

PaulMJul 14, 2005This album makes my head hurt. Intensely annoying except for the entertaining Kate Bush cover.

-
JerryLJul 8, 2005A perfect record from start to finish. Brilliant. Great live band as well.

-
DuncanSFeb 18, 2006Seriously one of the worst, most annoying records I've ever heard. The a capella, the "harmonising", the tuneless "mod-ness". Its only saving grace is the occasional decent lyric.

-
Ah-oh-oh(Ah-oh-oh)Feb 6, 2006Probably the best band in the world. New album April 11 in Canada. Seriously, with Radiohead and Deerhoof in terms of songwriting ability.

-
BradSJul 11, 2005This album is blatantly overhyped. While not a terrible work, it most certainly lacks the substance and cohesiveness of a great album. The frantic pace, repitiveness and lack of depth left me altogether unimpressed.

-
lucafJul 27, 2005yes, the futureheads are a brilliant band indeed, but at the same time their debut is not a real masterwork. It's a promise, a consistent promise.

TimKNov 7, 2004excellent cd... very much like 'drums and wires' era XTC, throw in a little Jam, and their own thing... influenced, yet original... quirky and very fun... highly recommended

TeeBeeJan 31, 2005one of my favourite bands from last year, let alone albums. The music is catchy and the men are lovely. Not much more to do but buy it!

GarrisonSJul 17, 2007I have just been introduced to the future heads yesterday when i bought the itunes playlist "Alt-Rock Workout" which contained "Hounds of Love". It is the only futureheads song i have heard yet, but i am very eager to hear more. The song is very catchy, and the Oh-oh oh gets stuck in your head. I definitely recommend it.

MikeRNov 16, 2004Truly a spectacular debut. Well-constructed, complex, tight-knit pop songs that really deserve your ear. I haven't heard anything this exciting in contemporary pop since I threw in the first Shins album. They sound nothing like the Shins, of course. This, however, is a much more complete album. Enjoy!

DeanNov 18, 2004Sweet! I took a couple listens to get adjusted to it, but now I'm completely addicted with no end in sight
