LGJan 22, 2005If The Fall fell out of favor with you because of their dubious output in the last decade+, this album will restore your faith! I hope MES has more in him like this one.

leegAug 8, 2004the US version kicks major ass. way better then the import. the sound is better and the remixed version of Sparta is nothing short of brilliant. Mark E Smith is Genius, long live the king

PeteWJan 6, 2004I just can't stop playing MES latest offering. Many may disagree, but I think he becomes more coherent with age. A man with much to say, and cracking tunes to boot. Radiohead take note.

The Real New Fall LP is as solid and interesting as anything the group has released in the last ten years.
-
as brittle, volatile and consistently riveting as any band out there, and even though no one could possibly take Smith seriously anymore, it insinuates that there's still enough justification here to warrant following The Fall's devious discography into one more decade.

SpinAn atavistic orgy of recycled riffs and lifelong obsessions. [Sep 2004, p.120]
