Barbra finally lets her voice be heard on the Election of Donald Trump as President way back in 2018. On "Walls", Barbra lets you know that she is no way gonna be silenced over what troubles her in life, by using her incredible vocal range to place you in your seats for these mind-pondering songs. Walls é um álbum espetacular, tem um frescor mas sem deixar de lado toda a personalidade de Barbra. Don't Lie To Me e o cover de Imagine, me tocaram muito. Se pudesse eu daria mais do que 10, daria 1.000.

This latest album from the phenomenal Barbra Streisand couldn’t be more timely. An outspoken critic of Donnie, Barbra uses her art to express her thoughts and feelings about what is happening in this country today. Yet, she does so, without once ever mentioning his name, so each of these songs can stand on its own merit, even without the political message. The songs are exceptional, with most being brand new material, and several of them written by Barbra herself. And her voice, that extraordinary gift that she has shared with us for 6 decades now, is as pure and powerful and emotive as ever. “Walls” is yet another gem from this American treasure, a legend and an icon for the ages. Understandably, the 76-year-old's voice has lost some if its technical precision, but the backdrops have light touch and when she growls Don't Lie To Me's motif, "How do you sleep?" or evokes "thunderclouds of alibis" on the imperious The Rain Will Fall, she oozes despair and fury. Walls is unchecked, indignant and raw, and though it ends with a note of despondency, it is a triumph.

Streisand’s powerful delivery of simple, pointed lyrics (“Facts are fake and friends are foes / And how the story ends nobody knows”) convinces, even on the gamiest heart-tuggers.
