Jan 15, 2020Extremely underrated gem. Grows after each listening. No filler songs, each one was my favorite at the time.

Nov 6, 2013Beautiful album. It has a very personal style, its content, which makes it unique. Just great. Natalie definitely your best album is this who is not far behind the "Left of the middle" on some tracks even surpasses the quality of the previous album.

RobertW.Mar 10, 2002Starts poorly and improves after the dreadful first three tracks. Hits the hights with "Everything Goes". Good, uncomplicated pop in places; terrible, cloying, shallow pop in others.

davedOct 22, 2003Pathetic follow up. Not one catchy tune there. Really flat pop. Forgettable.

JimmyNOct 22, 2003Terrible!!! Pop at its worst. The critics have been too kind.

needafOct 22, 2003Unbelievably bad. Boring. All the tracks sound the same. I liked her first album though.

RobNDec 27, 2003Very good followup to her first. That Day and Wrong Impression are very catchy and caught my ear right away. The rest of the songs are very much matured from her first album and it shows. Very good album.

MattR.Dec 27, 2001Awesome. Don't pay attention to the whiny music critics (music reviews bite anyhow) and get this CD

LisaB.Mar 26, 2002A more introspective album than "Left Of The Middle." Natalie's voice is warm and clear. Good songwriting. My favorite songs are "Everything Goes" and "Hurricane". It's a solid CD.

LevisOFeb 26, 2005A really lovely album. Has yet to wear out its welcome after almost 4 years. Hope her new album is just as good!:)

MichaelL.Sep 24, 2007Simply amazing. This is an album that grows on you. The critics obviously were quick to write Natalie off as a one hit wonder and did not listen to this disk properly. Criminally underrated. Beauty On The Fire is one of the finest songs ever made. Period.

BenKJun 24, 2006Not as poor as critics will have you believe. There are a few songs that lack depth, but others ("Sunlight" being my favorite) that have an awful lot to offer. The sound is a nice balance between slick, layered production and Natalie's beautiful voice. Definitely satisfies when you're in the mood for some lighter pop.

MojoThe actual tunes may not be particularly strong, but crucially, at the centre of it all Natalie croons and sighs with all the clear-eyed moonfaced sweetness of Juliette Binoche baking cakes. [Dec 2001, p.116]
-
One can sense that she has complete control, lyrically and musically.

Despite Imbruglia's big, pouty voice, it's all perfectly pleasant and quickly forgotten.
