Jul 24, 2015Mumford are becoming an usual indie-band from garage that found some interesting instruments and don't know how to use it. There are some good songs yet - Tompkins Square Park, for example, would be erfect in any of previous albums. However, other part of this album is so NOT "Mumfording", that the only emotion left - dissapointing

May 6, 2015on the whole, it's obvious Mumford And Sons simply had nothing else to say with their more folky style predecessors and have simply gone on to be not brilliantly changed in any manner, but just further more unconvincing than before.
-
May 8, 2015Disliking Mumford & Sons is no novelty. Anyone can do it. Unfortunately, with the uninspired change in direction on Wilder Mind, a record so drenched in rock clichés, and without any sense of purpose, M&S make loathing the group almost as easy as not caring at all.

Aug 19, 2015I cannot stop listening to this album. It is that good. I never liked Mumford as banjo pickers but I love this album. It has me hypnotized. Great enigmatic lyrics.

May 7, 2015What is this? They basically took everything out that I liked about them they used to be unique now they are just bland I only give this a 1 when it should be a 0 but I kinda like Ditmas
ESSENTIAL- Ditmas -
May 7, 2015Mumford & Sons continue to rehash their perfectly manufactured style, resulting in more of the same. At this point, there really isn't much more that can be said about this band. They've reproduced and reproduced the same album over and over to great commercial success. I for one find them immeasurably dull.

Sep 28, 2015This album is amazing and just because they changed their music style doesn't mean the album is bad,the old fans need to accept change because this is one great album regardless of their older stuff

May 7, 2015Disappointing. I can understand the desire to try something new and prove to the critics that they are not just all strings and guitars. However to leave their signature "Mumford" sound behind, they end up sounding like a Coldplay cover band. Sorely disappointed.

May 5, 2015What a disappointment! First three songs of the album at least sounds a little interesting, after there is impression that you listening the same song again and again... M&S just became completely unremarkable band. Bring back banjos!!!
-
May 7, 2015Generic, mindless, and heartless. Really doesn't bring anything to the table, and comes off as deeply empty and without a message. Where their first two albums were generic and boring, yet had a slight aura of genuine emotion, this album comes off as pure radio rock, written exclusively as a means of making money. This may very well be the worst album of the past decade, and I mean that sincerely.
-
May 4, 2015An album that makes perfect sense, sonically cohesive and lyrically stunning. Mumford's vocals have never been better and the passion we know and love from the band remains and develops throughout. The addition of electric instrumentation and a full drum kit spices sings up significantly. Critics, consider yourself silenced.

May 4, 2015Amazing and brave new sound without losing their emotional touch. The first line of the album felt like a hand squeezing my heart and it didn't let go until the last song.
The statement is clear: Mumford and Sons are not banjos and kickdrums, they're real musicians. -
May 5, 2015NO BANJOS!!! This "new" sound of there's is unfortunately a very generic "indie" sound. The songs all blend together and not one sticks out. Lyrically it's nothing special either but not horrible. Overall it's too polished and overproduced. A very forgettable album, now excuse me while I go listen to Sigh No More...

Nov 10, 2015A guitar album from a band without a proper guitar player. A couple of decent songs save this album from being totally worthless but what a terrible move for this band.

May 18, 2015These guys are actually plugging in now?! WHY? Sure it sounds okay, pretty damn good actually. But why the uneasy, hollow feeling that follows? Something went awry here, somewhere.

Oct 24, 2015I was very disappointed with this album. Mumford have lost their unique and distinctive sound, this could have been recorded by any boy band. My copy has now been binned

MojoMay 20, 2015Far from electrifying. [Jun 2015, p.86]

May 14, 2015With Wilder Mind, they eschew their recognizable sound, supplanting it with a less memorable collection of songs more readily relegated to background music than either of their previous albums. As big and perhaps unanticipated an adjustment as it is, however, Wilder Mind then deepens and improves with each consecutive listen.
-
May 11, 2015Wilder Mind is incredibly one-track, so much so that even on your first listen-through, you’ll likely already feel like you’ve heard closer ‘Hot Gates’ five or six times in the past hour.
