Amazing album with amazing production and lyrics. It’s a “darker” version of Taylor but this does don’t seem to stop her from making this amazing album

reputation is possibly Swift’s most intimate and important work to date. More than about feuds or gossip, reputation was about an artist finding their confidence and happiness in the midst of great isolation. With this record Swift allowed us to see her most vulnerable side under the heaviest of media scrutiny. In years to come, this will be considered a landmark pop album.

Reputation's first single was a red-herring that mislead the general public about what the entirety of the album would sound like. A dark synth pop album with song writing and vocals far superior to 1989. Look What You Made Me Do was a trick that successfully mislead people into believing the album would be full of hateful, petty, shady songs directed at enemies and rivals. In reality the album, at its core, is an album about love. Ready For It...'s booming bass that opens the album begins the game entering you into Swifts new sound while singing about a love that she's asking if we or the man she is with are ready for it. End Game a surprise semi rap song about wanting to be the final choice of her love would have preformed better on the radio if it would have received better promotion. I Did Something Bad deserved to be a single. A booming powerful catchy song that makes you feel like a bad b*tch no matter who you are, male or female, I Did Something Bad was a powerful song. Transitioning into an a pop rendition of gospel music Don't Blame Me showcases some of Swift's best lyrics. Delicate then gives us all the anxiety of a new relationship. The tension and anxiety is palablabe as Swift asks over and over and over again if its cool that she said all that? Is it chill that you're in my head? Is it too soon do do this yet? A place we've all been in a new relationship, once more Swift perfectly captures a complex set of emotions and boxes them down into a simplistic pretty little package that truly makes the song relatable with out all of the flourishes and fancy words. Several songs on the second half show case a more sultry side of Swift with genius production and song writing, like when the songs out right goes silent and pauses during Dress. So It Goes a surprisingly sexual song for Swift still makes you feel like you could go home to your love and reenact scenes from 50 shades of grey. Get Away car an apology song that competes with Delicate, IDSB, Call It What you Want, and New Years Day for the top spot on the album is a master piece giving listeners goosebumps each listen. As you reach the end of the album two of Swift's softest love songs ever written bring us to a close both with simple lyrics but still ones that, if you aren't in love, make you wish you were, and if you are, they make your heart melt for your lover all over again. reputation was a very severely underrated album that gathered a lot of hate from people who clearly had only listened to Look What You Made Me Do and decided that the rest of the album wasn't worth a listen. 10/10 Expand

This was honestly disappointing. She didn’t even seem to be trying. For the most part this was just her arrogantly prancing on the stage while other people did all the work. If I could define this album in a word, it would have to be versatility. Miss Swift isn't afraid of trying something new, and that's good. Although I miss her country sound, Reputation is a nice album to listen to and enjoy. Her lyrics, as always, are 10/10.

It's bad, but it's not bad if you listen more than once. In her discography, "Reputation" is the best in terms of musical maturity, everything she talks about boys, relationship, got boring, always the same. I think "Reputation" is good just because it's different, because if Taylor left that shade on shade aside the album could be great.

This collective is musically and narratively unforgiving from an artist bias. Swift is respectfully credited writer and producer on this album, but to no degree of a focussed outcome. Songs lack appeal and the polish that is perceived seem very blindly committed. No advancements in sonics and boring aesthetic, very inspired by the target focus of the lead single. Y así vamos pasando, desde hablar de historias de amor tan dulces y prometedoras (Delicate, Don't Blame Me, Gorgeous, King Of My Heart, Dress, Call It What You Want, New Years Day). Pasando por historias que la marcaron (I Did Something Bad, So It Goes, Getaway Car, Dancing With Our Hands Tied) y como debía ser, acerca de su reputación (Ready For It, Look What You Made Me Do, This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things, End Game), hasta finalizar un trabajo discográfico que sí bien no es el mejor de ella, es uno de los mejores trabajos Pop del 2017-2018. In this album, Taylor's focus is hardly on singing. Listen carefully to her vocals. Most of the time she is basically talking while a background beat plays in the background. Songs like "Delicate", "Ready For It", and "Look What You Made Me Do" highlight this especially.
The album is also quite weak lyrically, and Taylor's lyrics are mainly focused on referring to previous conflicts with other celebrities.
While this album is still getting its praise, mainly because it's by Taylor Swift, this album is much more different from Taylor's previous ones.

Este álbum muestra el lado versátil de Taylor, cada canción es mejor que la otra y la forma en la que las compuso, el mensaje que transmite en cada canción, es simplemente perfecto, este es su segundo mejor álbum.

This album was amazing. The lyrics are not that good, but some are beautiful. The songs are amazing, she's trying another music genres, "I Did Something Bad" is something brand new, never heard before. "New Year's Day" and "Call It What You Want", the last two songs, are masterpieces. "Look What You Made Me Do" was not so critically-acclaimed, but I particularly liked it.

Taylor's worst album but that doesn't make this album bad. This album is kinda cool but some songs like "Look What You Made Me Do" or "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Thing" is kinda boring to me, and "End Game" was totally a bad song, featuring Ed Sheeran ruins the whole song. Simplesmente um dos melhores álbuns já lançados nos últimos anos, Taylor Swift nunca decepciona e sabe lançar música pop a frente do tempo sem lançar porcarias de momento. IDSB merece ser single.

One of the best projects of 2017, definitely. Taylor’s lyrical genius is as good as before, if not better. Her voice has improved, with her hitting high notes in most of the songs. Her maturity shines through on this album.

On reputation, Swift balances a darker, more vengeful tone with a sweet, romantic sentiment, which can sometimes cause the listener to be confused. The constant see-saw between affectionate love songs and vengeful songs (presumed to be about either her exes or her longstanding feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian) are jarring at times, and make the work seem disjointed. The constant see-saw between affectionate love songs and vengeful songs (presumed to be about either her exes or her longstanding feud with Kanye West and Kim Kardashian) are jarring at times, and make the work seem disjointed. However, the songs themselves are very good pop songs on their own. The standouts on the album see Swift at her most vulnerable. "Delicate" explores a scenario many people encounter, how to balance timing with a new love interest. Similarly, "Call It What You Want" is a sweet love song, in which Swift proclaims she is proud of the man she is seeing and details how he has helped her through a troubling time.

Swift misses in situations where she tries to be too aggressive in songs such as "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things" and "I Did Something Bad." In "Bad," she proudly proclaims "for every lie I tell them, they tell me three, this is how the world works, now all he thinks about is me" and "if a man talks **** then I owe him nothing." The lyrics, coupled with the aggressive beat are a sharp departure for the preceding "End Game" and require the listener to adjust the mindset almost immediately. Swift proudly proclaims in "End Game" that "I got some big enemies", however I feel that the album dwells too much on this perceived slight by her enemies, and departs from what makes Taylor Swift's music transcendental.

Highs from the album: "Delicate"; "Dress"; "Call It What You Want"; "Getaway Car"
Lows from the album: "This Is Why We Can't Have Nice Things"; "...Ready For It?"

Reputation is lesser than the sum of its parts, unfortunately. It's weird to give it a 4 since over half the songs on here are very well-done (props for making Ed Sheeran actually tolerable), but the album doesn't do what it's trying to do: show Taylor in a positive light. It flips between petty bitterness and wistful melancholy so fast that it feels ingenuine. If this album had beenReputation is lesser than the sum of its parts, unfortunately. In this record Taylor sounds like she's in a teenage crisis, even tho her intention was to look more mature. Between her "look what you made me do"'s and "you're gorgeous"'s, she lets her songs fade into each other, and not even the production couldn't distract from it, like Katy Perry's Witness. But there's a thin difference: Katy's record was quite more intense while the polished production of Reputation couldn't hide her poor vocal performance, and sounds dated and forgettable right after the first listening.
Okay, Taylor, you're a bold girl. But your work is not one, by far.

other than the few singles released (lwymmd, gorgeous, ready for it, end game) it's a pretty solid album. however, extremely disappointing considering how long fans had to wait for it! lyrics are okay - it's a bit of a step down from red and 1989 but still same ol' taylor. production is a little messy but very entertaining overall.

Part rumination on engaging with the pop icon and part deep end even after eating the meal, Reputation keeps the ball in the air, argues for moving forward, even if it’s herky jerky.

Swift’s unencumbered analysis of the tectonic shifts within her personal and public life are equal parts razor sharp and self-indulgent. But as a pop album, Reputation is never revolutionary, the adrenalin rush heady but ultimately short-lived.
