Her voice has not sounded this good since the early 80s. The songwriting, music and production are incredible. The songs have a flow on this album that makes it difficult to imagine hearing them individually. Easily her best since Bella Donna.

This album rivals Bella Donna or her work with Fleetwood Mac. Several of the songs on this album reach the heights of the best tracks that Nicks has ever put out, including the nicely witchy vibe of the title track, a country hit single in wait "Blue Water", "Lady" (an intimate song that is like a piano version of "Landslide"), and "Mabel Normand", a risky tour de force of a song about drug abuse.

I've been listening to Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac for decades. This is a good album. Better than her last one: "In Your Dreams." The problem is that there are no real stand-out tracks. ...all the songs just go on as if on insta-pop. ...one pretty song after another kind of pretty song. All about love, no doubt. Ms. Nicks has as her best work decades behind her (Rock A Little). It's greatI've been listening to Stevie Nicks/Fleetwood Mac for decades. This is a good album. I think that's what everyone is really celebrating with this release. Expand

Well this is easily her best solo album since Bella Donna. It's a great album. There is not a bad song on the album and you would be hard pressed to find a better 2014 classic rock album. It's that good. Many songs on this album should get played all over the radio. Well, ageism is alive and well in rock n roll, so maybe not :( But she delivered the goods!!!!!!

The queen of rock is back and in FINE form. I LOVE this record. I can't say it's her best record because all of her records are absolutely fantastic. But I can say that this is much better than 2011's In Your Dreams. The highlights of this album are: "Mabel Normand", "Twisted", "24 Karat Gold", "Belle Fleur", "All the Beautiful Worlds", the California rock tinged "Watch Chain", and "SheThe queen of rock is back and in FINE form. This album is beyond amazing! Her voice, lyrics, and music are all stellar; this album has it all. Every song is crafted with the love, timeless effort, and magic Stevie is known to possess. I thought "In Your Dreams" was her redemption album, however, this album blows everything she did out of the water! Most critics have it right: if you are already a big fan of Stevie Nicks, you will love this record. If you are just discovering her music, then skip this one and start elsewhere. I don't think that's faint praise ... this album seems specifically made to please hard-core fans.

The material comes from demos made during Stevie's prime songwriting years (70s, 80s), and the production also conjures the smooth rock of that era. To my ears, it's a joy and very pleasing to hear. Stevie's voice is confident and authoritative in ways that it wasn't when she was younger, and that lends an interesting shade to some of this older material.

There are a few songs that I don't like, but overall I enjoy listening to this album as much as any of her classic stuff. Thumbs up!

As a project and as a reminder of a hugely talented lyricist this is a treat. [Nov 2014, p.96]

While it’s thoughtful of Nicks to dig deep into her unreleased catalog, the middle third of the album drags on a little too much as the middle five songs can, and should have, all been cut down by a minute each.
