This time out, the best things are brought out in sharper focus and dressed up in finer clothing, and the record nearly achieves perfection.

A collection that's at once futuristic and timeless, Across The Multiverse is sure to wow friends, family and followers alike. [No. 145, p.57]

There’s a fair degree of whimsy to Across the Multiverse, especially given May’s penchant for Hollywood-sized scores in the style of Randy Newman or Brian Wilson. But amongst that silliness lies an honest, raw desire for companionship.

May can be schmaltzy, yes; but also needle-sharp. [Sep 2017, p.94]

Across the Multiverse is one of the best pop albums to have been released in 2017.

The wall of sound is strangely, stultifyingly uniform, a thick slab of piano-led clangour--like the din of a bustling room overwhelming a lounge singer’s best efforts.

This album comes across as his strongest melodically and his most consistent from start to finish, with a little drop near the end of the album but finishing strong with "Distance to the Moon". Any lover of Brian Wilson and The Beach Boys will find a new musical companion in Across the Multiverse, and most indie-pop listeners will find at least a few tunes to add to their collection.

My personal favorites include "Across the Multiverse", "Dream 4 Me", "Don't Let Them", and "Distance to the Moon".
