These are big, stately songs, packed with rue as much as brio. [Dec 2015, p.103]

Stakee’s pensive, emotional songs sit snugly with lite-drama television series like Sons of Anarchy and Californication, as well as video games like NFL Madden 12. It’s not necessarily a bad thing (as that’s what pays these days), but without any other musical or lyrical distinction, Alberta Cross’ music works best paired with something else.

Alberta Cross' familiar '70s rock soundscape is lush and relaxed--ideal for the self-reflection that's fostered by long drives, Sunday afternoons and quiet dinner conversations with friends.

While fans may have to make a slight adjustment to their expectations, it's a minor one, and most will likely find the results refreshing.

Some imaginative arrangements--notably on a brass-heavy Ghost Of Santa Fe--can’t disguise the fact that the transcendent qualities this music demands are too often absent.
