great album! picked it up on the weekend and i don't usually like rap or this sort of music, but when it comes to k-os; it's real and original and well worth the time to listen to

I am a fan of the Decemberists and this guy is like the rap version of them for me. But the music is not only rap but also an eclectic mix of various genres.

great, new, original hip hop. Yes thats not an oxymoron, k-os really is a fresh change from all the bling/gangsta rap. Although maybe a lttle more pop sounding than his other records, the more rock influence in this album just shows hes evolving.

There are some real bangers on this album. One of K-OS's greatest gifts is his ability to change gears so effectively- note the change from the boombastic first track to the 50's style chords in the 2nd (both tracks are great by the way). If you haven't heard K-OS yet you should check him out as I'm not aware of anyone in hip-hop who makes music like him. He's a There are some real bangers on this album. The only reason I don't rate this album higher is because a few of the tracks are a little too happy for me. Expand

K-Os has created what can only be regarded as the album of the year. Nothing I've listened to, and boy do I listen to a whole lot of music, even come close. K-Os is the ultimate one man band, he sings with the best of them, is a credible emcee and produces beats that range from your Kanye's to your favourite tight jean wearing brit pop, indie rockers...only one word gives this K-Os has created what can only be regarded as the album of the year. Really good stuff. I noticed a few reviews complaining about his message and some supposed contradictions or something: honestly, who cares if his music isn't exactly what he says it is? Just listen to it, it's quite good.

An Entertaining listen with some great hooks. May not be as good as Joyful Rebellion but I love the genre mashing and K-OS is trully a master at it

K-OS is the best artist in the world, pretty much every song is good on this album, you need to listen to it more then 4 times, then it all sinks in how amazing it is. My album of the year, this guy should be winning Awards not those other crappy emo bands.

  1. While Atlantis doesn't exactly "rip apart" the "stereotypical art" that is mainstream hip-hop, as the rapper-singer claims on the track "Equalizer," it's a pretty good start.

Only a few cuts really stick. [22 Feb 2007, p.80]
  3. The music on this album glows and shines, and while it certainly isn’t consumed by grime and dirt, it has a degree of edge to it.
